Novell appoints new board chairman -- Novell Inc., a Waltham, Mass.-based software developer, appointed Richard L. Crandall as non-executive chairman of its board of directors. Crandall succeeds Thomas G. Plaskett, who has served in that position since 2006. Plaskett will continue to serve on Novell's Board.
Crandall is a founding managing director of Arbor Partners, a high technology venture capital firm -- a position he has held since November 1997. He also serves as the chairman of the Enterprise Software Roundtable, an organization of the senior corporate leadership of the 35 largest software companies, which he founded in July 1994.
Since November 2006, Crandall has served as chairman of Pelstar LLC, a manufacturer of medical weighing and measurement devices. Other positions he had served include that of managing partner of Alpine Capital Partners LLC, a real estate developer; chairman, board member and special advisor of Giga Information Group, an IT research and advisory firm; founder, chairman and chief executive of Comshare Inc., a decision support software company; technology advisor to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and a director of Diebold Inc. and of the Dreman/Claymore Dividend & Income Fund, a management investment company.

Each submission should include a description of the family being nominated and why they are deserving of a home makeover, as well as their photos and videos. Each nominated family can be rated by the public on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the most deserving of a home makeover. The top 10 rated families will be researched to confirm they are truly in need of a home remodel, and then a celebrity panel will choose the winning family to receive the home remodel, which will be completed in 10 days.

Frontier Bank opens new HQ in Park City -- Frontier Bank, a Park City-based community bank with one branch in Sandy and three others in Palm Desert, Calif., is opening its new corporate headquarters at 1630 Shortline Road today. A grand celebration will be held today from 5 p.m.-8 p.m.
"It has been a goal of ours since the beginning to eventually build a better bank building in Park City," said Andy Montgomery, CEO of Frontier Bank. "It took us ten years."
Founded in 1998 by James Montgomery, the bank was formerly located at 1245 Deer Valley Drive in Park City.
