iMergent president resigns

Just one month after former iMergent chief executive Donald Danks's abrupt resignation, the Orem eCommerce company lost another of its top executives.

Brandon Lewis resigned from his position as president and chief operating officer of iMergent effective March 9. He had served in that role for the past seven years. He also resigned as director of the company's board, effective immediately.

"He wasn't fired. He wasn't forced out," said Jeffrey Korn, iMergent's general counsel. "He wants to spend more time with his family and pursue other opportunities and allow the new CEO space to impart his own vision." Steven G. Mihaylo took over as iMergent's CEO in early November.

Danks's resignation came after the company reported net losses for its fiscal first quarter worsened from a year ago because of the economic downturn and a tax audit by the Internal Revenue Service. He had served as iMergent's CEO since 2001.

Last August, Danks resigned as chairman after he leaked material information from the company's third quarter 2007 fiscal earnings before it was due to be released to the public -- causing the company to come close to being delisted from the American Stock Exchange.

Governor's office offers ATK $32.7M credit

CLEARFIELD -- The Governor's Office of Economic Development has approved a $32.7 million incentive to try to lure a new Alliant Techsystems commercial aircraft composite manufacturing plant.

Clearfield is among the areas competing for the new facility. Utah already has 5,800 ATK employees, including some who work in the manufacturing division at a center in Clearfield. The incentive approved Thursday would be a refundable tax credit over 20 years.

Officials say ATK will make a decision in the next couple of months.
