New frozen yogurt business opens in American Fork -- Frozen Yogurt Junction opened its first store at 218 W. State Road, Suite 8, in American Fork.
Owned and operated by Corey Laing, the four-worker store hopes to eventually expand and add more Utah County locations.
"We opened in American Fork because we saw that there was not a soft serve frozen yogurt store in this area and had heard about the loyal following that the Yogurt Parlor had when it closed two years ago," Laing said.
JCPenney reopens West Valley City store -- JCPenney, a Plano, Texas-based department store chain with 10 stores in Utah and a distribution center in Spanish Fork, held a grand re-opening of its newly renovated store at Valley Fair Mall in West Valley City on Friday.
The 130,000-square-foot store, which first opened at the Valley Fair Mall in 1970, began substantial renovations in March.

Provo tech firm names new CEO -- eFileCabinet Inc., a Provo-based electronic file management and online backup solutions provider, named Matt Peterson its president and chief executive officer.
He replaces founder and former CEO James Blaylock, who will now serve as chairman of the board.
Peterson joined eFileCabinet in January 2007 as chief operating officer. During his tenure as COO, he led the expansion of operations and staff, and established processes to support the company's growth strategy. He was instrumental in securing the recently announced venture capital investment from Canopy Ventures that will accelerate eFileCabinet's product development, sales and marketing initiatives.
"The demand is greater than ever for reliable, affordable systems to manage and protect personal and business data -- particularly in the wake of natural disasters that occur regularly across the globe," Peterson said.
SLC investment management firm names new exec -- Melissa Burridge was appointed director of recruiting of Heritage Financial Group, an insurance and investment management company in Salt Lake City.
Burridge earned a bachelor's degree from Westminster College and is working on the thesis to complete her Master of Professional Communication degree from Westminster.
