FundingUniverse.com will host a SpeedPitching event to help give entrepreneurs a chance to pitch their business ideas and obtain startup capital from potential investors. The SpeedPitching event, or speed dating for the business world, puts the 10 most qualified entrepreneurs in Utah face-to-face with investors looking for the next big thing. Entrepreneurs take turns pitching their companies to tables of three to five investors for four minutes. Investors then have three minutes to ask questions. If selected to participate in the event, an entrepreneur meets with dozens of accredited angel investors in a very personal setting. Nearly every entrepreneur who has presented at a SpeedPitching luncheon has received follow-up from an investor or angel group. Location: Miller Innovation Center, 9690 S. 300 West, Sandy. Fees: Free for investors. Entrepreneur application fee: $25. Presenting fee (if selected): $500. Luncheon: Free to one presenting representative. Each additional presenting representative will be charged $25.
