OrangeSoda, Inc., a new technology company that offers customers new options in the field of online marketing opened its doors at their new Orem location May 10.

The new Orem offices, located in the Canyon Park Technology Center, now serves as the company's worldwide headquarters.

"We are excited about our new offices," said Jay Bean, founder and president of OrangeSoda. "The opportunities for growth in Orem are virtually limitless, in large part due to the support of the mayor, the Chamber of Commerce and the community at large."

OrangeSoda specializes in online marketing, typically working with small to midsize companies with smaller advertising budgets. They will work with businesses of all sizes, but tend to utilize their services for businesses with online advertising budget of $100 to $5,000.

"People paying $5,000 would find it difficult to get the service they need from Google or Yahoo, not to mention those that spend $100," Bean said.

OrangeSoda's technology centers around technology developed in the past several years by co-founders Bean and Derek Miner. The technology optimizes advertising money by calculating the value of every click on an online advertisement, keyword search or banner.

Bean said that using the technology helps advertising become more efficient.

"There has been a need for the past three to four years for a local search option," Bean said. "Yellow pages are used so infrequently today, people tend to use the internet more often."

Before their work with OrangeSoda, Bean and Miner both specialized in the Internet marketing field. Bean became an Internet entrepreneur, and a pioneer in pay-per-click Internet advertising.

They began working together on the business in the Summer of 2006, officially taking on customers in January 2007.

Since that time, their business has grown rapidly, in terms of number of customers.

"We launched in January, and already we have hundreds of customers," Bean said. "There is such a great need for this technology."

The company now handles accounts for over 200 customers located in all 50 states, and anticipates that number to grow to over 1,000 by the end of the Summer.

Bean said that their location in the Orem area will increase not only their customer base, but their employee base as well.

"We have 40 employees total, 37 of them are located at our Orem offices," Bean said.

Before his start with OrangeSoda, Bean had another technology company in Ogden in 2000. He said that he moved the company to the Orem area because of the technology base in Utah County.

He also likes Orem because he can utilize college students for part time work, hopefully moving them into full-time positions after graduation.

"We have already grown so much and see so much more growth in our future," Bean said. "Businesses in every marketplace can use our technology; we want to be people's in-house marketing experts."
