Business Event

UVEF to host luncheon Thursday -- The Utah Valley Entrepreneurial Forum will host a luncheon on creativity featuring speaker Brandt Anderson. "I believe that creativity is best focused on the things we love and enjoy. The things we love about life, the thoughts we have when we are not required to focus or think. It is in these moments where if we focus our passion and energy, we can create art regardless of training, background or profession," Anderson said on his Web site.

"Because I believe technology should simplify life and not complicate it, we have created software products that will reduce the pains of working in a small business," he said.

UVEF will also spotlight Steven Roy, regional director for Utah Science, Technology and Research or USTAR. Roy will discuss how USTAR can help investors and entrepreneurs tap into the new technologies and research emerging from the university offices of technology commercialization. Cost: Free for UVEF members. $25 for nonmembers. Location: Novell cafeteria, 1860 S. East Bay, Provo. Time: 11:45 a.m.-1:30 p.m. To reserve a place, e-mail Dan Purdon at danpurdon@cedo.org.
