Shade Clothing expands in American Fork -- Modest fashion apparel retailer Shade Clothing is expanding in American Fork with the opening of its flagship store at The Meadows shopping center.
"It is amazing that we've outgrown our first, small store in just two years," said Chelsea Rippy, CEO of Shade Clothing. "Especially at a time when people are being so careful about where they shop."
The new store, located at 51 N. State St. Suite 105, encompasses about 2,200 square feet and has eight workers. The former store, about 600 square feet in size, was at 50 North Center Street in American Fork.
The company has four other Utah stores in Orem, St. George, South Jordan and Centerville.
There are currently 60 employees companywide including 55 employees in Utah. Five other workers are at a Shade store in Arizona.
Established in American Fork in 2006, Shade was recently named one of Utah 100's Emerging Elite.
