You might be on to something, Blondie. I'm taking a month long vacation this summer. I should get a subsidy for not occupying my home for a month.

There you go....... Get hold of Congress ASAP....

Of course, if I did that, the government would want to have my house occupied by illegal aliens during my absence.

This thread discusses the Content article: Congress votes to boost food stamps and farm subsidies

Good grief. Did they say how they were going to pay for it?

About two-thirds of the bill would pay for domestic nutrition programs such as food stamps and emergency food aid for the needy. An additional $40 billion is for farm subsidies, while almost $30 billion would go to farmers to idle their land and to other environmental programs.

$70 billion to farmers. Some to grow certain crops and others to just not grow anything. Is there any sanity left in Washington?

They think all of US are numb to their proposals... Maybe they will kickback some of their pay raises.......... NOT!!!!!!!!

Maybe they will give you a subsidy on your tomato plants......

Speaking of, true to my word, those babies got stuck in the ground last night along with my zuchs, corn, and green beans. It felt good to play in the dirt.

Careful, you're affecting interstate commerce if you don't release "those babies" into the commercial market!
