One thing that is really annoying in this new format is the rapidity in which the drop down menus activate. They are constantly obstructing the view of the website when you are going from the forum to the toolbar and back. A slight delay would eliminate the problem.

Agreed it is annoying.

Just go back to the old format, there's nothing better about this new one, nothing. I'm sure your seeing the lack of traffic compared to the old site, and it's going to start hurting your online revenue stream when the advertisers learn of the new traffic numbers. Either make the changes people suggest, or live with your revenue dropping, your call.

Here's things that need to be done.

Drop downs are annoying
You need to make the lastest postings more prominent, and get rid of having to click on the lastest post to find them,

Put the threads that are busiest in the last 24 hours back to being in a prominent position.

Get rid of the silly karma junk, nobody cares.

The site is slower than molases, speed it up

This is a local news site, stop trying to be MSNBC by posting all the stories people go elsewhere to read about.

I agree,

In fact the only thing that is fast is the drop downs. Then you sit and wait for the forums for hours before they come up.... the same with most of the articles. I loved the old format where I could view all of the news instead of having to select the "our towns" etc. to be able to see the top news.

I have changed to reading other news sites.
I hope that people who advertise with this thing are reading this. Because it is horrible. Kick the programmer...... and the IT who decided to go with this mess.

P.S. don't forget to give me a negative 2000 Karma for this one.
