Cheney is evil! How did his company get the contract to rebuild Iraq without any other companies having the chance to competitively bid against his company? Are we still living in America? Shouldn't the lowest bidder get the job?

The lowest bidders get the job when "important" lives are on the line such as building a space shuttle which falls apart repeatedly on launch.

The less important cannon fodder is given shoddy equipment for their protection to ensure the war does not end before the treasury is milked for all that Haliburton can get.

Isn't democracy wonderful? Are you not glad that we are no longer a republic where the voices of the people rule?

The lowest bidder isn't always the best choice.  There are other factors to consider.  sometimes the low bidders are not capable of the job.

Now, there is a deep statement. I'll have to take a couple of days off to contemplate and meditate upon this statement so that I can see the deeper meaning.

Yes, Cheney is evil. This is his war. It's not just Bush pulling the strings on this one. By the way, has the writer of this letter been asleep for the past 4 years? Because this is OLD news. I'll assume that you're like most in Utah--either living an "ignorance is bliss" lifestyle, or that you only get your news from Fox News.
