I would have no problem with al gore and other scientists recieving the peace prize for reversing the global climate shift and saving the earth from distruction if it wasnt all just crap. All they do is play to peoples emotions and fears.

What awful, irresponsible hack the Herald has published! This piece, spewing as much misguided venom as a Faux News Broadcast, would be utterly laughable if its intent was not to influence. Global Warming is important. Gore has invested much more time to this issue than goes beyond making a mere movie. He has placed the science of climate change in the mainstream dialogue; even as the ignorant, including those who stand behind this garbage, attempt to discount him. Gore is right. And, to the ire of every conservative zealout out there, he has always been right. Perhaps it is worth revisiting his comments made in 2002 regarding Iraq? Conservatives still foam at their well fed mouths over the 2000 election: Gore was the peoples choice; Bush the illegitimate president of the Supreme Court. This is an embarrassing piece of partisan hack that serves no other purpose than to dissuade the simple minded from the credibility of real science.

Henry Kissinger was robbed! He should have won this prize, no contest. Sure, he's won it before, but there's no one more deserving of promoting eternal peace on this planet that I can think of, and I think he deserves recognition for all the work he's done since his last award...

When the oceans rise 20 feet, I suppose I will bow my head and listen to you tell me you told me so. The simple minded are the ones who believe everything they read and hear...

Don't wait for the oceans to rise...This year, the winter of 2007-2008, our children will be kept inside from recess when the inversion is so bad that the quality of the air has become dangerous. It will happen, several times. Why? Because of global warming? No, because of the pollution that results from thousands of SUV's belching their filth into the bowl of our valley. Now, climate change scientists will say that we need to stop this behavior because its warming the earth. I really don't care whether or not you choose to believe them. What I care about is the quality of the air this winter. About what our kids our breathing. About the diseases that have been linked to air particulates and that are rising in Utah. It doesn't matter that you choose not to believe in the science. But you should be willing to adopt a sustainable lifestyle now that will ensure our kids grow up healthy. And if we stop the oceans rising by a couple of feet, well, that's ok, too...
