Very well stated! The liberal paper writers' hearts are always bleeding for illegal aliens. The fact that they are breaking the law and forcing down the wages of some of America's most vulnerable native workers doesn't concern them in the least.
Illegal immigration needs to be stopped cold!!! No more amnesties and no more politicians pushing it. Crack down on employers who hire illegals. When the jobs (and other incentives) dry up, the illegals will go home. Otherwise, start learning Spanish and prepare to watch your country become as corrupt as Mexico. Our politicians (i.e. Chris Cannon) are already becoming corrupt over this issue. They tell us they are against illegal immigration but do everything in their power to keep the flow of illegals coming. Their business contributors like that cheap labor.

The 14th Amendment (which is used as the basis for our current policy) is a post-Civil War artifact that was intended to guarantee rights to the children of freed slaves.
Exactly right! Prior to the 14th Amendment, national citizenship was derived from state citizenship (US Constitution, Article IV, Section 2). Some states refused to recognize freed slaves as state citizens after the Civil War. The 14th Amendment created a national citizenship for those former slaves.
Amendment 14 - Citizenship Rights
1. All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.
How does one become "subject to the jurisdiction thereof"? Mere birth is not enough. The 14th Amendment was ratified in 1868, yet all Native Americans were not recognized as US citizens until 1905.

Johnson's letter was very well written.
People talk about how sacred this bastardization of the 14th amendment is, it's some sacred part of what America is all about.
Of course, the people that say that are the same ones that hijacked the statue of liberty to use as a hostage in an extortion effort against the American people.
Those of us who want to undo the bastardized interpretation of the 14th amendment are painted as extreme, yet virtually every country of the world has the same policy that we are advocating, because they are run by people who serve the interest of their own country, rather than being run by people like George Bush and Ted Kennedy who believe America should be slaughtered so that the less fortunate of the world can feast on its rotting carcass.
