Can we get past the "idiot" comments this thread has brought forth?

I spoke with my state senator, and was told that every time it is brought up, the suggestion meets with considerable resistance. None of our posts so far indicate why anyone would be in opposition.

What are the reasons for keeping DST? Why not eliminate it, and go to either standard or permanent DST?

I would really like to hear a legitimate discussion of this issue.

Geeeezzzzzzz, Watchdog. Can't we have a little fun? Did you have a bad morning or something?

O.K., for a serious response... the reason they always give is that if they went on permanent daylight time, it would be hazardous for the little kiddies going to school during the winter because it would be dark. That is the resistance that you will run into.
