Okay, after this one, I'll stop. I promise!

All three pages of the "Romney" donations are to Romney. He's the only candidate (other than Obama, which I already mentioned) for which that was true.

For what it's worth...which isn't much I know.

My LDS ward covers 5 zip codes. I typed in all 5 and Romney had several contributions in my area (Southeast Louisiana) including a couple that are quite substantial (over $3000). None of them are from LDS members.

In fact, surprisingly, he was the top fundraiser in those zip codes. There were a few contributions for Obama, Clinton, and even a few for Paul. I think I may have seen one Giuliani and one McCain, and an Edwards or two. But by far Romney was the top. I was quite shocked by that, living in this part of the country.

As an LDS person, I would never vote for or not vote for someone based solely on their religion. Right now I'm really on the fence between a couple of candidates and need to learn more before I decide. However, I will say that I do think Romney would be the best one to get us on track fiscally and with our health care system - two MAJOR issues for me.

I live in Provo UT no surprises. Almost everyone listed gave to Romney! Who would have guessed.

In my zip code it was pretty much McCain, with a sprinkling of Edwards. One lady sent 5 donations to Obama and another lady sent a pretty hefty chunk of change to Romney. I think I'd rather spend that money on fishing! ;D

Proud to be a wicked witch and uppity wench.

Words for Dubbs from an apostle: "More regrettable than the [LDS] Church being accused of not being Christian is when church members react to such accusations in an un-Christlike way," Apostle Robert D. Hales said on the second day of the two-day conference. "Surely our Heavenly Father is saddened - and the devil laughs - when we contentiously debate doctrinal differences with our Christian neighbors."

My thing is the damage that illegal immigration and ignoring our immigration laws is doing to this country. Towards that end, I offer this about Romney:

http://www.vdare.com/burns/070809_romney.htm

I don't care for those that flip-flop either, so I find his present "stand" to pretty much be political, rather than a long term position that I might be able to count on remaining after election time. He reminds me of Gov. Huntsman, who during his campaign, stated his position against illegal immigration. Now look where we are at! I have to believe that Romney would do yet another flip-flop on the issue.

How does a letter to the editor become a soapbox and a forum for political advertising? I think someone should send someone a bill.

As a news junkie and political enthusiast, I have been intrigued to observe the support and attention Mitt Romney has received in Utah. I agree with others who have come to the assumption that Romney's support in Utah stems from his religion.

"Romney not good representative of LDS views"

Not true, in my opinion. I believe he is a perfect representative of LDS views. He is a perfect mirror of this society.

I know, no surprises in Utah.

But in my area, I was very surprised at how much money Romney is raising, among the non-LDS.

Just for fun, I threw in a few zip codes randomly (not in Utah) and in almost every code I pulled up, he's the top fundraiser.

No one in my zip code has donated (to anyone). In the next town over there were two $500 (husband and wife) donations to Romney (I've taught a couple of their children).

I believe those lists only show donations over a certain amount. I personally donated twice to Ron Paul and my donations did not appear, and I know of several others for whom this was also the case.
