I know, no surprises in Utah.

But in my area, I was very surprised at how much money Romney is raising, among the non-LDS.

Just for fun, I threw in a few zip codes randomly (not in Utah) and in almost every code I pulled up, he's the top fundraiser.

No one in my zip code has donated (to anyone). In the next town over there were two $500 (husband and wife) donations to Romney (I've taught a couple of their children).

I believe those lists only show donations over a certain amount. I personally donated twice to Ron Paul and my donations did not appear, and I know of several others for whom this was also the case.

It only shows donation up through June 2007, so if it was made after that, it doesn't show up.

Proud to be a wicked witch and uppity wench.

Words for Dubbs from an apostle: "More regrettable than the [LDS] Church being accused of not being Christian is when church members react to such accusations in an un-Christlike way," Apostle Robert D. Hales said on the second day of the two-day conference. "Surely our Heavenly Father is saddened - and the devil laughs - when we contentiously debate doctrinal differences with our Christian neighbors."

I think the lowest amount was $50, although I thought I saw one for $25.

Try the FEC. It's at

http://www.fec.gov/finance/disclosure/imaging_info.shtml

and lists all contributions - by individual election campaign, as the candidate/campaign files the reports as required by law. You will find far more than you ever wanted to know!

Outstanding letter to the editor... couldn't have said it better myself! We need more individuals who are "awake" to what is going on in Washington!! So far on this site, the only ones who "get it" are "The Keeper" and "Aware". I'm sure there are others as well, but these two are the most informed and I commend them both for their awareness. I, for one, will be voting for Paul, no question, and anyone who does will be voting for ethical, moral and constitutional government the way it was meant to be by our founding fathers, not this cess pool of graft, greed and corruption in the house, senate, congress and with both the republican and democratic parties that has evolved thanks to big corporations, special interests, lobbyists, self-interests and a lust for power.

Americans need to wake up and look at the other parties. Supporting the two major parties is why we are in such a mess today.

How does a letter to the editor become a soapbox and a forum for political advertising? I think someone should send someone a bill.

Oh heavens, a letter to the Editor expressing political views. How UNHEARD OF! I suppose Ron Paul should just go beg for the scraps at the table of mainstream media (who reinforce establishment candidates daily FOR FREE) and not have any enthusiastic volunteer supporters writing letters about him.
