I've given up even trying to figure out why they are at half-staff anymore. The way things are going, they might as well cut off the top half of all the flag poles and recycle the metal since the flags never seem to find their way to top anymore.

Careful Pit your going to start another controversy. When putting the flag at half staff, you need to raise it all the way to the top first.

Yeah, but if you just cut that top half off, you'll shorten the trip. The people raising them to half-staff would use less energy doing so and therefor they would reduce the worlds carbon footprint. See how logical everything is?

But then instead of half staff, you would have to go to quarter staff. Then someone would have to rewrite the flag etiquette.

I noticed today that Colonial Flag on I-15 has their giant flag at half staff. Anybody know what for?

This time it is valid. The flags are at half staff because Former Utah governor, Cal Rampton died Sunday night.

As to the original article, our government doesn't care about the Constitution, why should they care about proper etiquette for the flag?
