What is this...
"Your session timed out while posting. Please try to re-submit your message."
How could my session time out when it only took me 2 minutes to type up the comment and hit submit? I get that error message about 1 out of every 4 or 5 posts.

TDH Staff/Randy Wright....
I have been thinking on this for the past couple of days on this whole issue of not having active moderators on this forum.
How about having some of the regular posters act as moderators on the forum. I know that a couple of the top posters on the forum would certainly willing and capable of moderating. That solves the issue of offensive posts and keeping tabs on people, while not requiring the staff of TDH to be actively monitoring the forum.
Just thought.

Good suggestion, JB. Maybe you'll be lucky and get a response within the next 36 months!
Is it possible to change your username? If not, WHY NOT?

Doubtful.
I sent several letters to both Randy Wright AND Craig Dennis with this suggestion after both of them informed me that the reason there is no active moderation is because they don't have/aren't will to spend the resources necessary to actively moderate the forum.
As I explained it to them: This is the only forum I have ever participated in that has not had active moderation, usually member-moderation.
I have been a moderator more than once on more than one forum.

That is a GREAT IDEA... Maybe if enough of us regular posters let them know the policy could be changed to help out and would keep the forum a nice place to voice opinion and not a fighting arena....

Some sites have a good random user moderator system. Certain users are randomly given moderator privileges or points for a period of time. The odds of being a moderator were dependent on your karma. It seemed an effective method of preventing trolling and active flamebait posts.
