I have a question for the moderators. What does it take for a post to get deleted from the forum? I know of one poster who when ever challenge concerning his beliefs responses in a very personal manner attacking in rude and uncalled for ways. Yet when I have reported him, nothing is done. Yet you have removed some of mine past and for the ones you have removed I think I understand why. Why do some get away with more abuse then others? Any chance of you posting a guidelines page? Dana
I agree... if we have a set of guidelines, then we all know ahead of time what is and isn't acceptable, and when someone has crossed that line. A set of guidelines would be helpful.
There are some black and white issues such as racism, profanity and pornography obviously. Also we are on the lookout for potentially libelous statements, whenever a comment starts out "I knew Mr. Smith and he blah blah blah" it generally attacks the character of the individual.
Many of the other things we'll delete a comment for are a huge grey area. In general we are trying to maintain a family forum for the Utah County readership.
The good news is that under the new system we've deleted less than 20 comments. That is a huge reduction from the old system.
I will work on getting a policy statement written and posted.

Please, please, please, Mark, keep the preview function.
With preview you can see exactly what the post will look like before launching. That includes whether the bolds, underlines, italics, etc., are as intended.
True, the modify function can be used. But, if there are several corrections needed, one must get a paper and pencil and jot down the corrections before going to modify. With preview you can jump back and forth between the preview and what you've typed making changes as each error is noted.

We are planning on fixing it. It's just fairly low on the priority list.

The new features are fantastic. Much easier to navigate between subject headers. Being able to delete comments is great for making adjustments.

Posts seem to go from a nice large font on white background when first written to a nice large font on gray background then to a very annoyingly small font sometime later on sepia background. Can you explain? Especially, the small font.?
My bottom line is, can you please keep all fonts large so the near-sighteds don't have to sit so close to the monitor? Thanks.

Perhaps as we progress through the ranks (based upon the number of posts) we could be called something other than "newbie", "jr. member" and whatever comes after that. I would suggest something more personalized towards the newspaper industry such as: "gopher", "cub reporter", ... "honorary chief editor", etc.
