I wish the applauds/smites were tracked by the article or thread. When I post messages on 5 different articles it's hard to tell who hates me for what.


Hehe, I know what you mean. It's hard to defend your post if you don't know the exact result of that post.

I get this error about 1 in 5 posts. What gives?

I just wish folks on this site knew how to quote appropriately.  It takes ten times as long to scroll through posts that are exact copies of the previous one with a single one-liner tacked on to the end.  Highlight and delete, that's my motto.

I'm not sure I understand. Could you elaborate?

I mean that rather than quoting the parts they are responding to, or just simply stating the purpose of their post in the response, posters quote the entire previous post (which often includes five other previous posts) before adding their one line.  It makes it almost impossible to wade through the posts.  Is it necessary to have 68 lines of quoted text just to say, "You're an idiot" or "I couldn't agree more" at the end?  That's my point.

It is an issue with the forum engine that the Daily Herald uses.

It is a free engine, and a peice a junk, if you ask me.

I wish they would get rid of SMF and use vBulletin.

In the mean time, just do a select all and copy of your post before you click POST. If it gives you that error, hit the 'Back' button on your browser, then do a select all and paste to paste back what you posted. Then click the Post button.

Rinse and repeat as often as necessary.

(it just happened to me, yet again)
