I can't speak specifically to LDS beliefs, but I for one would hate to see the nation affected by the stupid Sunday restrictions we've seen in Utah (though I don't think any are at the state level and they probably occur in parts of the bible belt). The restrictions on liquor and even auto sales are ridiculous. If I had to make a guess on beliefs I'd suggest that I don't want the surgeon general pushing the idea that coffee is unhealthy despite all of the research to the contrary (yet I do see LDS still pushing this because of the WoW). While this sounds stupid Bush did use his religious position on abortion to keep the FDA from approving Plan B despite the recommendation from its panel of scientists.
I think we have nothing to fear of Romney as a Mormon but a lot to fear as a man who out plays Hillary at political lying and pandering. Romney is not an individual I can respect despite his clean living. He simply doesn't appear to have principles.

Ha ha ha ha. Everyone is worth something, even if it's only as a bad example.

Anyone who believes that Mitt could be excommunicated for not following Church direction to him in his role as President does not understand how the LDS church operates.

Oh please, give us a break. I remember a few of the great Mormon purges for people just publicly speaking of a unique Mormon doctrine such as a heavenly mother.

Now this is exactly why I fear Mitt Romney becoming president of the United States and trying to promote Mormonism into federal government.

The federal government would do well to adopt the Church's welfare practices and system. It would save the tax payers millions if not billions.

True, if they adopted the 10% tithe as a flat tax, fast offering as a welfare plan for the poor and needy, There wouldn't be a homeless or needy family in the whole United States. Also the system of organization and lack of pork, I think those ripping Leavitt might think again, and realize it wouldn't be a bad thing.

But truthfully we all know that the case would be more new Mormon ward houses and Mormon temples.

Nothin wrong with that. The world would be a better place.

Not without the God of the Bible or the biblical Jesus Christ.

Which parts of Mormonism mentioned in this article are you most concerned about becoming evident in the federal government? Or perhaps there are others you are more concerned about?

honestly I'd have to say Joseph Smith or Gordon B. Hinckley and everyone and everything inbetween

In other words, he was caught talking out of his butt, and he has no clue what he thinks the answer is.

Yes I agree that with all the evidence such as history, archaeology and the so-called inspired teachings of Mormonism's leaders it's easy to see that yes they were talking out of their butt's.

You appear to have an irrational fear of Mormons in general.

Joseph Smith is long dead. Gordon Hinckley is in his late 90's and probably not long for this world.

And only one Mormon is running for the Presidency of the United States of America.

The rest of us? We will vote according to the dictates of our own consciences...just as you will.

Yes but your membership within the Mormon Church will no doubt play a large part on your decision.
