Well this sucks, all the fun stuff is gone, like the karma points, seeing who's online, there stats, what topics have how many posts in the last 24 hours, latest posts is hidden, national stories is the highlight of a local Provo paper? All not good ideas, some higher up with nothing to do but think of new ideas that are not what anyone wants to begin with.

I have to agree. I enjoyed the old site, I liked knowing where the new messages started, being able to see posts quickly, being able to navigate easily, and knowing who was online, what they posted and karma points that could be used more then once every 6 hours.

The layout is awful and you can't get news from hometown newspapers. I tried to find them by going to "our towns" and tried the part of the county (I guess that's what 'south' meant) what a laugh. Nothing there from Payson, Spanish Fork, SPringville, papers just a bunch of junk.
Really bad move to change the website for the worse.

I just wanted to notify DH that they published my real name with my posts.
Did you guys read your privacy disclosure?
You should kick your techs and the brilliant person who bought and installed this program.
Have they ever heard of beta testing before they put it on the internet?

Russ wrote:I guess this should have been expected. Now, instead of a fairly easy site to use, the web masters have joined managed to get the overall quality of the web site more in line with the Herald's reporting capabilities.
Two words: Complicated and non-intuitive.
Suggestion to the DH: Give it a couple of weeks, watch your online readership fall off because of the complicated site...and then bring the old format back. That is, if you care about having online readers, that is.
The old format could have stood for some improvements, but at least one could get around in it. Not with this one! You sure didn't build on the previous site. Starting over is usually never a good idea...you threw the baby out with the bath water!
I will say kudo's to you though. You started a trend, in that some of our local papers have began allowing discussion of their articles on line. That IS a good thing!I really don't think they care about the online readers, but why should they? They don't profit from it, so the only thing they *really* get is certain posters running their inbox over with commplaints about other posters. What a headache for them, eh?
That said, I do hope *maybe* they will get rid of this layout.

What they can't know is what we do to them in our mind, a perfect violation. Looking for something more in forum? www.devilsandwenches.com

They get online revenue for the ad's PV, so this site is very important to them, or they wouldn' thave spent allot of money for this update, that made it worse. LOL
