Obama, the Candidate-without-scrutiny, got a few touching words by Hillary on his pastor-disaster. Here's what Clinton is reported to have said: "Jeremiah Wright would not have been my pastor. You don't choose your family, but you choose what church you want to attend."

Hey, Hillary let me remind you. The pastor is his family. He calls him Uncle. Uncle Jeremiah. I wonder what the amazing Obama calls his indicted slumlord friend, Rezko, whose wife purchased the strip of land right next to his $1.6 million dollar house? Brother Rezko maybe?

Maybe the Candidate-without-scrutiny and Clinton can duke it out in preparation for the upcoming chaos at the DNC. My guess? Hillary will win.

Before all this gets out-of-hand you'd better hurry back from your little trip to the Virgin Islands, Candidate-without-scrutiny. On second thought maybe you'd make more money staying as a Senator with your little kickbacks. You know. You give Rezko some more government subsidies and he'll continue to finance your campaign and do little favors for you like having his wife buy that little strip of land next your house that you really couldn't afford.

Wow. You've got a good game going on and you've succeeded in pulling the wool over everyone's eyes. At least so far.

Before this 2008 election is over we'll all be pulling our hair out trying to pick the Candidate who will cause the least collateral damage. So much for the Liberal media choosing the nominees for us.

A. You are assuming RushReader is a woman. Not a good assumption to make. I don't recall ever seeing that in the profile on the previous forum. Perhaps he or she can elaborate...don't count on it, though. Speaking of assuming, both you and RushReader assumed that the Trolley-Square murders were an act of Islamic jihad if my memory is correct. How did that work out, Jaye? Did the police and FBI, after all the evidence was in, come to that conclusion?

B. Even if RushReader is a woman, saying inflammatory things such as (from earlier in this thread):

"Hillary Clinton is an abomination and Obama is the apocalypse"

is partisan rhetoric that I or others are not going to leave alone, nor should we. I don't believe I've ever seen RushReader simply try and expound a conservative opinion. What his or her normal modus operandi is is not to put forth the conservative opinion, but to attack the liberal one.

Case in point. The post right above your last post. It's not a pro-McCain piece, it is an anti-Obama piece. He or she does not know any other way. No facts, just a heap of rumor and innuendo. The same with the post immediately above and below this one. One dimensional to the core.

RushReader is a political hack, whatever it's sex.

Refute the facts of the Obama-Rezko tete-a-tete, truthhurtsdoesn'tit.

Ah, but you can't.

Refute the words uttered by the right Reverend Wright on the video put out by his own Trinity Church, truthhurtsdoesn'tit.

Ah, but you can't.

Just words, says Obama. Just words? Ah, but the words don't apply to his pastor. And actions don't apply to him.

The Candidate-without-scrutiny is above scrutiny. How dare we scrutinize him. If we scrutinize him, says one Mediamatters in-the-tank-for-Obama-supporter, we must be racist.

What you fail (or are too stupid) to recognize, RushReader, is that as the economy slips deeper into a recession (you know, the one Bush keeps denying but is getting worse), and as the violence in Iraq re-ignites (it's starting now, and will only escalate in the months ahead as more surge troops come out...Bush can't keep them all there without raising tour times again, and would be political suicide for the party if he tries) the Democrats could run the dogcatcher from Laramie, Wyoming and win. And to add insult to injury, based on some of his recent comments, McCain appears to be getting more senile by the day.

As for Obama, if all you have got is griping about Reverand Wright, you ain't got much. You aren't even happy with your guy.

McCain will not win. We, the conservatives, won't let him. For if he were to win it would destroy the Republican Party and everything it has stood for over the many years.

I love that comment. I'm going to get more mileage out of it than I did the "presidential adviser" one.

Ah. You won't find this little tidbit blasted over the front page of the New York Times or talked about by the Liberal media. Hey, it wouldn't fit into their aims of picking the nominees now, would it?

The Candidate-without-scrutiny is the "politcal Candidate" in Fitzgerald's indictment.

Patrick Fitzgerald Ties Obama to Rezko Indictments

About: See Authors Posts (714) on January 19, 2008 at 1:29 PM in Chicago politics, Obama, Patrick Fitzgerald, Tony Rezko

Do you recall âObama, His Lobbyists and His Cronies,â my January 11th piece on ABC Newsâs reports on Barack Obamaâs long associations with â and innumerable financial, legal and real estate ties â to Tony Rezko, âwho goes on trial February 25th for âextortion and fraud charges, which include shakedown allegations involving an Illinois pension fundââ?

ABC Newsâs Brian Ross said, at the time, that Obama was not named in the 73-page indictment. Today, however, the Chicago Sun-Times â âSun-Times Exclusive: Obama surfaces in Rekzoâs federal corruption caseâ â reveals that:

Source confirmed Obama is the unnamed âpolitical candidateâ referred to in document which outlines case against Rezko

The Sun-Times reports:

Obama is not named in the Dec. 21 court document. But a source ⦠confirmed that Obama is the unnamed âpolitical candidateâ referred to in a section of the document that accuses Rezko of orchestrating a scheme in which a firm hired to handle state teacher pension investments first had to pay $250,000 in âshamâ finderâs fees. From that money, $10,000 was donated to Obamaâs successful run for the Senate in the name of a Rezko business associate, according to the court filing and the source.

Rezko, who was part of Obamaâs senatorial finance committee, also is accused of directing âat least one other individualâ to donate money to Obama and then reimbursing that individual â in possible violation of federal election law.

A spokesman for U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald declined to comment.

Obama ⦠has moved to distance himself from Rezko since his longtime friend and supporter was indicted in October 2006. After news reports that Obama had engaged in a real estate transaction with Rezkoâs wife at a time Tony Rezko was known to be under investigation, the senator called the episode âboneheadedâ and âa mistake.â ⦠[Yeah, right. Below, IâVE POSTED BACKGROUND on Obamaâs home purchase tied to Resko and his wife.]

Other key revelations in the Sun-Times story today are Obamaâs feeble attempts to deny knowledge of shady deals, improper campaign donations, and Rezkoâs reputation as a slumlord (all while Obama worked for the law firm that represented Rezkoâs interests in low-income housing developments):

Obama denies knowing Joseph Aramanda â named as âIndividual Dâ in the indictment, and who received $250,000 in âshamâ finderâs fees âdemanded by Rezkoâ â but âObamaâs office hired Aramandaâs son as an intern in 2005, at Rezkoâs urging,â reports the Sun-Times.
âRezko is one of Obamaâs earliest political patrons,â and although Obama claims heâs only received $60,000 from Rezkoâs fundraising, the Sun-Times found that â[i]n 13 years in politics, Obama has gotten at least $168,000 in campaign donations from Rezko, his family and business associates.â
Rezko is an infamous slumlord, although â despite having worked on dozens of real estate deals that benefited his client Rezko â Obama âsaid he was unaware of problems with the buildings and minimized the legal work heâd done.â (So much for the âlittle people.â)

I wonder if ABCâs Brian Ross has been on the phone all morning, working his own sources for further background on the Sun-Timesâs discovery that Obama is indeed the unnamed âpolitical candidateâ in Fitzgeraldâs indictment. Hereâs Brian Rossâs video from January 10th â when Ross didnât know that Obama was the unnamed candidate in the indictment. And, below, thereâs more from the Sun-Times story along with more background on Tony Rezko:

Hereâs the background on Obamaâs purchase of his familyâs current home in Chicago, along with some of the story on his lengthy history of associations with Rezko:

Obamaâs relationship with Rezko dates to 1990, when Obama, then a Harvard law student, interviewed for a job with Rezkoâs development company, Rezmar Corp. Obama turned down the job, instead going to work for a small Chicago law firm â Davis Miner Barnhill. That firm did work on more than a dozen low-income housing projects Rezmar rehabbed with government funds.

Eleven Rezmar buildings were in the state Senate district Obama represented between 1996 and 2004. Many of the buildings ended up in foreclosure, with tenants living in squalid conditions, the Sun-Times reported last year. In one instance, Rezkoâs company left tenants without heat for five weeks. Obama said he was unaware of problems with the buildings and minimized the legal work heâd done.

Obamaâs relationship with Rezko grew closer in June 2005, when Obama and Rezkoâs wife bought adjoining real estate parcels from a doctor in the South Side Kenwood neighborhood. Obama paid $1.65 million for the doctorâs mansion, while Rezkoâs wife paid $625,000 for the vacant lot next door. Obamaâs purchase price was $300,000 below the asking price; Rezkoâs wife paid full price.

Six months later, Obama paid Rita Rezko $104,500 for one-sixth of the vacant lot, which he bought to expand his yard. In November 2006, he expressed regret about the transaction.

âIt was a mistake to have been engaged with him at all in this or any other personal business dealing that would allow him, or anyone else,â Obama said, âto believe that he had done me a favor.â

Yeah, right. The LeftCoaster has more on Obamaâs house purchase in âObama Canât Shake Connections To Chicago Insider In Trouble With FBIâ:

In October of 2006 it was revealed that Rezko helped Obama purchase a home for hundreds of thousands of dollars below the market value, while Rezko bought the lot next door. Illinois residents remember well Obama saying he didnât recall the conversations with Rezko, then remembered after Chicago papers started examining the deal, then admitted it was a âbone-headed mistakeâ on ABC. [As the YouTube video shows, Obama has had a variety of âexplanationsâ for his longtime association with Rezko.]

SilentReader, folks aren't reading your neo-babble. You will have a job for a few more months, then the McCain maniacs are going to sweep you neo-cons to the curb.

And, yes, Jaye, SR, is nothing but a very poor political hack writer.
