I agree...on both points.

I would only add that even though this boy showed great courage in his actions in trying to defend his mother...his mother showed a marked lack of common sense in her actions.

It is not worth risking serious injury, or even loss of life to put yourself between an attacking pit-bull and another animal.

She should have told her son to get back inside the house, and called the police. The Schnauzer would have likely died...but it could have been much worse for this woman, and for her brave boy.
