This thread discusses the Content article: Measuring losses in Iraq

Who on the Herald staff writes this crap?

We, a foreign country engage in 2 pre emptive wars and the writer has the gall to call those we attacked terrorists? I would sure like to know how anyone can state since we are fighting over there that we will not be attacked here?

The author tries again to link Saddam with "terrorists". He needs to stop these old lies and admit to his readers he has no proof just like all the US departments who have investigated have concluded.

Hey, if he has new facts let Bush/Cheney/McCain know!

"We do not downplay the sacrifices made in combat" he states. Sure does not show it in his writings.

The best way to honor the dead would be to initate a draft. That way more Americans can participate in the sacrifice. Or, we can get those people out of someone else's country. That might curb the US death's don't you think!

To call our current servicemen and women volunteers is not accurate. Just ask the ones that have been deployed 3-4 times and those affected by the stoploss policy. If they are true volunteers they should be able to quit, right?

It is very true that history can be re-written but those of us living today know the truth about the terrible presidency we saw. Only 298 days until US regime change!

I hope there's a bit of shock and awe with the forthcoming US regime change. Not a lot of that out of this bunch, at least in a positive sense.
Everything is, of course, the fault of the clinton administration and the liberal media, but the fact still remains that US personnel losses in Iraq are directly the cause of their involvement in Iraq. If the shrub administration has mitigated any other cause of death to US personnel then over the past years it should have been...zero.
In addition, what about the Iraqi deaths? I'm sure that every death in Iraq from the days of the hanging gardens through 1990 is the clinton administrations fault, but since then?
Don't go away mad, george. But please, go away.

Vinny,
Your 30 years up at the "point of the mountain" severely restricted the blood flow to your head.

To be a balanced article you would expect to see the numbers of non combat deaths under Bush to be provided. The fact of the huge rise in suicides is very alarming as well as the deaths that do not get counted once a casualty is outside the borders of Iraq even if the injuries were combat related.

The true reason for the problems in today's military are the direct result of Bush/Cheney not planning on anything but virtual anilation of the free spirits of 2 countries citizens.

After all Vinny they are the reason we are at war, not Clinton. With all that said I hope your grandkids have returned safely.
