Prove it. Even if they are, is that a crime? I don't think you can access their profiles to see when they were last online. So you're just guessing here.

Bitter Bob is a great name for Dubbs' pretend-person character here!

Once again, a pretend-person who offers pretend-opinions has nothing of worth to contribute, but it is fun to watch the machinations of the degenerating pretend-brain of Bitter Bob.

LifeRocks, why haven't you had your name removed from the church records?

Actually, I did withdraw my membership from the Church in November 2006.

You get a letter from the Stake President...takes about 30 days. They sent me a letter warning me that all my priesthood blessing for eternity would be voided and then the official letter came a month or so later from a Brother Dodge in membership department. The world didn't stop.

Thirty two years...December 1974 - December 2006.

I hadn't been active, in the Church for about 3 years or so though I'm always doing lots of things and I love to serve others in huge ways. That's how I get my juice in life. I was busy but just not with the Church.

Seems people who are in the Church think those who leave take the experience lightly. I'm telling you, leaving the Church is a really hard thing to do. I had wished it was true. Life was easier and
I have lot of good things that occurred while I was a member of the Church...things I learned...experiences I had, and people I knew (or thought I did).

But the fact I had to come to terms with is that I can't say "I know" or "I believe" and I can't pretend or act with something this important.

It's been so frustrating to hear some of the attacks suggesting that people leave the Church because they're weak or so they can sin. It takes courage and integrity to follow your convictions
and if there was something that convinced me to the contrary, that I was mistaken, I'd go back.

But you see,

I'm interested in the truth, whatever it is.
I prefer to know rather than having someone hide information from me.
I want to grow as a human being as much as I can. I value my life and want to make the most of the time that I have.
I don't want to have to wait for someone to "think" I'm worthy to give me a chance to do something.
So I left.

And I'll be the first to tell you, it's scary and hard. Over 30 years and I didn't even have anyone come over to see how I was doing. No one even stopped to see if I was ok.

Since then, I've caused some pretty incredible things to happen...wildly amazing things... bordering miraculous.

I've thought so much about it. And while I know of a lot of people who are pretending...going through the motions. I can't do that.

And I still think as human beings we have so much more in common. So I'm going to keep working on this and one day you're going to find out just how many people are offended by this. Maybe that will capture your Church's attention.

Anyway...enough said. I'm done here in this forum and on this topic. I sure learned a ton!

Whether we agree or not, I do sincerely appreciate your comments and the feedback and that you took your time to express your views.

All of you--go live the best life you're capable of living! Be amazing!

We know a wonderful woman from Kaysville, who, at 23, was preparing for marriage. She was temple worthy, he was temple worthy, but her father had never been a member of the LDS church.

Her bishop told her that her duty was to go to the temple.

She told him to butt out, that she had praying about the matter, and that the Holy Spirit informed her that her duty was to honor her father who had supported her finacially and emotionally all of her life, that she owed it to him and to God to make sure that the father could be there for her wedding.

She married civilly and was sealed in the temple a year later.

In my opinion, she acted like a true Christian.

I agree...as well as acting like a daughter who truly loves her father, and remembers her duty to honor her parents.

The LDS Church professes the importance of family first and foremost. How geneology is so important in turning the hearts of the children to their fathers, and the hearts of the fathers to their children.

"Families are forever".

But as this man's experience indicates...they do not always practice what they have professed.
