Telling point. Dubbs is what he is, when on the forum and off the forum -- bitter, untruthful, etc, etc, etc.

Dubbs, I have not been on here very long but have seen the insults fly to you and from you. You claim no one knows the real Dubbs. So, why don't you tell us about the real Dubbs. Like the old TV show, "What's my Line?" will the real Dubbs please stand up.

All that I have learned so far is you claim to have been a bishop, but certainly don't talk like an ex bishop should and that you are active LDS. Ditto.

Just wondering.

I am a pretty normal LDS man, some would say I'm a TBM, some would say that I am a guy who is somewhat liberal TBM.

I like to have fun and have a great wife and 3 kids, I like to discuss religion and more specifically, the history and issues dealing with my faith, the LDS faith.

In real life away from this site I'm known as a guy who is quite shy and doesn't say much to people unless they ask me a question and seem sincere, I will discuss religion with them and my beliefs. I am not really the same in real life as a portray here, as I find the disrepect here dispicable, and return it in kind to show that there is an answer to the anti agenda here. I found nobody really defending the faith at all. Some find me abrasive, and I agree, I can be. Right or wrong, that is for me to deal with my Savior on. But I also have had many emails and PM"s from people who have said they appreciate my sticking up for the church, including our own Kitkat, although she will dney it. I live in an area that has alot of "born again Christian" type bible thumping people that say I'm not christian and am going to burn in hell. This may have turned me off long ago to their style of "religion", as did many experiences with their type on my mission, including being shoved out the door of one preachers church, after a member of his congregation invited us in.

I came to this site kinda by accident because I went to school in Provo and like to keep up on the news in the area. I noticed that there was a lot of Mormon bashing going on on this site and saw some pretty mean, bitter people here that I thought was sad that they spent their days bashing a religion. I decided to come on the site and do what they do to my religion, to them, to show them that it is really a silly thing to do, and show them that there faith can be "poked fun at and mocked" as well.

I think now I just do it for entertainment with a few posters here who like to needle me, it is kinda fun to joust with them, and I find it entertaining.

That's about me in a nutshell. Or at least as much as I'd like to share in a blog.

And you have failed in your goal here, and you have lied about much of the rest.

Well, Dubbs, thanks for the reply. One saying I have always been taught is that 2 wrongs don't make a right. Another one my Grandma always told me is that you can catch more flies with honey than you can with vinegar. Now, may I move on to Scripture?

Luke 9:27-33. Too long for me to post, but you may know it, turn the other cheek, do unto others as you would have them do unto you, love your enemies, etc. go on to verse 41, which talks about motes (splinters) and beams (huge logs).

I'm not trying to say you don't mean well, but perhaps you are just going about it the wrong way.

I grew up in New York, near Buffalo. I joined the Church when I was 15 years old. I know very well about persecution. I know how it feels to be told I am not a Christian when the whole tenet of our faith is based on Jesus Christ.

Another thing my Grandma always said is that actions speak louder than words. In your case, your own words and vulgar speech that you use frequently, belies your words that you use to imply you are an upstanding, devout LDS. I know the language is used by many practicing LDS, but they are not the ones I look up to. I'm not talking about mild cussing, as I have been known to do that myself even though I know I shouldn't. I am talking about your crudeness of speech and a seeming lack of respect for almost everyone here. I am sure I will now be one of those that you will ridicule, so be it.

As emotions do not show through in writing, I want you to know I am writing this in concern and compassion for you. It is not in anger, for you have done nothing to anger me. Just trying to help you be more positive and a better example of a good Church member. You know, we are constantly setting an example, and are constantly watched. We may never really know all of the good or harm we have done by our words and our actions. I hope to be a better example than a bad one that turns people away from the Gospel. You are in an area and a position to do a lot of good.

God Bless.

I agree, we all have our weakness, all have things we need to work on. I find it best to not judge someone for something specific, nor try to correct someone for something specific, when we have our own faults.

That is a hypocritical statement, for you do judge daily on this forum, you do correct daily on this forum, you do not apply your advice to yourself.
