why do some Mormons still occasionally get riled up and start talking about a heavenly mother?
I didn't know Mormon got riled up about this? Jesus had a mother, didn't He? You have one. They are just as much a part of "man"kind as fathers, aren't they? I'd say they are a pretty important part, not only here, but THERE! Don't get riled, they'll forgive you. Even with your chauvinist attitude.

And you have failed to answer many many questions we have asked you.
As far as my kids, they are taught to love all people, no matter race, creed or religion. As do I.... in real life. What is it going to take for you to understand that this forum IS part of your real life?
And how long is it going to take you to realize you don't really know anyone here. Not the point. Your behavior here is offensive, not what is expected of an LDS priesthood holder. If you really honored your priesthood, you'd do so here, as well as in "real life".

Where do you get this idea? Have you ever attended any other Christian denominations services where this went on while you were there?
Or are you just guilty of strictly parroting some hateful rumor that you possibly heard during Sunday services or possibly General conference of the LDS church?
Can you provide any evidence of Christian ministers preaching these hateful statements against Mormons from the pulpit?
Now I can produce evidence of Mormon prophets and general authorities bashing Christians from the pulpit, should we look at this evidence?
There is plenty of this "bashing" to go around. There was a post on here just a couple of days ago from an evangelical site that talked about the LDS beliefs as ludicrous etc. So yes, there's plenty to go around. But I do admit, evangelicals are equal opportunity bashers. They dislike everyone. But whats the point? You and dubbs are quite alike in that respect. I don't find much useful in either one of your "discussions".
I would welcome discussing beliefs but it always seems to go downhill here. Your idea of salvation is different than mine, so what. The only way we're going to find out who is right is to kick the bucket. You're welcome to go first and report back.
OK ThomasK, you're obviously forgetting that it is the Mormon Church and its membership who consider all other religions apostate, it is also your religion who considers all others as lacking any authority from God whatsoever.
let's not forget Mormonism's pre-1990 temple ceremony where they portray all Christian ministers as the hirelings of Satan.
And as to your not finding anything useful in my discussions, that's OK because I take my information straight from Mormonism's leaders and you don't like that my little friend.
Our views on salvation ("eternal life with God" definitely differ and sadly for those who have been deceived it's too late once you die.
Look if you don't believe in the LDS Faith, than it doesn't matter if you are an "apostate or lack authority", anymore than your views that I'm "sadly deceived and it's too late once I die", matters to me. Get it little friend?
BTW, is your "too late" law permanent? So much for the Atonement.
You either accept or reject Jesus Christ in this life and yes once you die it is too late.
Look Logan if that's what you want to believe, OK. It just seems that you've made Heaven this exclusive little club. From the billions and billions of people that have lived upon this earth and will live here in the future, you're talking about a very select few that will be able to here and accept your concept in order to gain exaltation. SORRY, that's not my concept of a kind and loving Heavenly Father. It just doesn't make sense that He would only want a select few to be able to share His PLAN. Look at the percentages here Logan. We are talking about a fraction of a percent of the entire population of mankind that has every lived or will ever live on this earth. He sent His SON to die for THAT?
Logan, I'm not mocking your belief. You have every right to believe that. I don't, OK. I happen to think a loving Father wants a majority of His children to be happy and to enjoy all He has to offer. And that He will provide a way for that to happen in more ways than one. When you really get to bottom of what we are talking about, this is it. With one other big difference. I want to continue with my family. I want to continue with my wife. You don't. OK, you're satified with "salvation", I guess I'm selfish, I want more. I want to be with my family.
Logan, I should add. What's most important is what makes you feel the closest to your God. Not what someone else says that should be. If you're happy with your Faith and it works in your life that's really what matters.
The LDS Faith works best for me. For others not. at all.
Nice answer.
I have some questions and am interested in your opinions. Or you can PM them if this isn't the place to air that kind of stuff.
Why does it take a sealing ceremony to bind a family together? What is preventing them from being together otherwise? You'd think that if it was important to be together you would seek that out in the afterlife without requiring a ceremony to instill that desire into you for the afterlife.GOOD QUESTION. I've never been a Bishop, so I'm just going on my limited understanding. When a man and a woman are Married under the Covenant (Sealed) their children are automatically Sealed to them. When a man and a woman are Sealed after they have children they need to be Sealed to those parents because they were not born "under" the Covenant. It isn't about desire, it has to do with a Covenant performed by Priesthood authority. As you know, Christ holds all the Keys to the Priesthood. I realize this can opens a whole other can of worms so-to-speak. I've got to get to a baseball game. See you all later.

Your confusing the Mormon belief of a heaven reserved only for Temple Mormons and that's OKif you believe thatbut I don'tand I don't believe the Bible does either. >>"It just doesn't make sense that He would only want a select few to be able to share His PLAN" God loves each one of us and wants all of us to be with him but he lets us make that choice for ourselves. >>"I'm not mocking your belief. You have every right to believe that. I don't, OK. I happen to think a loving Father wants a majority of His children to be happy and to enjoy all He has to offer. And that He will provide a way for that to happen in more ways than one." I strongly believe that God has since the beginning provided that way of knowing that he exists and being the all powerful God that he is he's taken care of those who haven't heard the name Jesus Christ or had somewhat set down with themand show them scripture. I strongly believe and know it in my heart. I clearly piture the aborigines in the middle of nowhere marveling at the beauty around them and somehow knowing that someone is responsible for it. having some kind of knowledge of God is in my books acceptance and I believe that was enough to get them into heaven. >>"I want to continue with my family. I want to continue with my wife. You don't, OK? You're satified with "salvation", I guess I'm selfish, I want more. I want to be with my family." It is my belief that when we speak of family, biblically we are speaking of God's family and as his children we will all be together but I don't believe as man and wife or as family units. Salvation ("eternal life with God" you make it sound as if I'm just settling for second best. >>"I should add. What's most important is what makes you feel the closest to your God." Sorry, I strongly and respectively disagree the most important thing in this life to me is the correct understanding of who God and Jesus Christ are and the acceptance of what Jesus Christ done for us. When a religion such as the Mormon Church makes the truth claims that it does and claims sole authority from God, than I believe it is my responsibility as a Christian believer to study and evaluate those claims with the available evidence and I think it's best to let Mormonism's past leaders do the speaking. One last thought on the subject. If you're correct with baptism for the dead being needed to redeemed these billions of people you mention, how does that work? Are these people's names needed and how to you attain them? Will baptism for the dead really cover everyone who wasn't aware of a god or ever heard the name of Jesus Christ?

You won't answer, will you? Because you can't!!
I already did a couple days ago and that is what I believe and that is where my faith stands. No, I don't think you did. Because I've been watching for an answer...Well sweetheart, you obviously missed it.
