We take great pleasure in presenting to the Saints and the world the … the JOURNAL OF DISCOURSES, which they will find contains rich treasures of information concerning the glorious principles of Eternal Life, as revealed through God’s anointed servants in these last days. All who read the discourses contained in this Volume are earnestly recommended to adapt them to their lives by practice, and we can confidently assure them that, in doing so, they are laying up a store of knowledge that will save and exalt them in the Celestial kingdom. Apostle Albert Carrington, Journal of Discourses, Preface, Vol. 15.
I prefer the Church's position concerning this:
"The Journal of Discourses is not an official publication of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It is a compilation of sermons and other materials from the early years of the Church, which were transcribed and then published. It includes practical advice as well as doctrinal discussion, some of which is speculative in nature and some of which is only of historical interest. ... Questions have been raised about the accuracy of some transcriptions. Modern technology and processes were not available for verifying the accuracy of transcriptions, and some significant mistakes have been documented. The Journal of Discourses includes interesting and insightful teachings by early Church leaders; however, by itself it is not an authoritative source of Church doctrine."
BTW, you can download it free from BYU instead of paying for it from the website where you got your quotes.

They would be like the robot on land of the lost, does not compute, does not compute. I think it is a legitmate point they often overlook or ignored, that there were scribes furiously trying to hand write hour long sermons, sometimes longer, I'm sure they didn't get it all correct. Common sense says that. But they take it as if it came straight from a tape recorder.

Isn't it much better since the ignore came down? Life is so much better not having to respond to the three smarmy sisters of negativity, ahhh, it's like a load has been lifted, they never made an intelligent post anyway, so what are we missing? NOTHING!
My ignore list... Betz, Kitkat, and the blonde. They have nothing of substance to say anyway, but just like to add smarmy comments to the conversations, so why bother with the the constant smariness?

You are right: you don't think, Dubbs. President Joseph F. Smith, First Counselor George Q. Cannon, and Apostle Orson Pratt as to their worth, or your opinion. Hmmm?
Dubbs, do you truly believe that your bishop, your stake president, and the regional authorities would approve of what you are doing here?
You are the perfect example of how one letter turns "reason" into "treason", and that is what you are committing against the LDS church with your antics. You lie, you cheat, you fabricate, you swear, you name call, and you say you are a good LDS person.

Unless you believe that those types of sections are manmade in order to justify the genocide practiced on other tribes.
Ahh, now the Bible has man made sections in it ehh Wren? What does Blogan, Grizz, Exmoroberson, Uncle Buck, have to say about this?
Who cares what they say? The Book of Mormon is wholly man made. That is why Mormonism is such a mass of confusion with all of its sects.
So your allowing your salvation to be based on a book you believe to be manmade?
No, that's what you do. I base my salvation on Jesus, which is what you should do.

How do you know your beliefs are accurate, since the book is majorly flawed and inaccurate?that's a good question Dubbs "how can you"???

You are leaving your ass haning out here, and it is not pretty.
I have no problem with Mormonism, and everyone here knows it. However, if any want to claim that it is the one true church and think that statement is somehow beholden on the hearer, then be prepared to prove it with clear and convincing evidence. Testimonies don't count except for the testimony holder.
This is what Dubbs so bitterly resents. He can't prove the unprovable, and I beat down and break open his arguments like they are pinatas.
But Dubbs, if we can agree to disagree agreeably and discuss your points, I can do that. But act the ass, and I will kick it again as I have so many times before.
Your choice ~
You love to act the tough guy, In reality if your like most professors, your a 60 year old overweight blob of gue that can barely get out of his chair. You wont' be kicking anyone's ass bro.
See this is your problem Dubbs (and how I knew you were never in Martial arts) You think every challenge is a physical one, Wren was talking about kicking your butt mentally, But you're not smart enough to realize this are you.. "LOL"
anytime you want Dubbs, I have a boxing ring in my back yard, I'll go three or ten rounds with you, But all I need is just one round to knock someone like you out,
Now don't get all garrulous and mouthy like a coward, if you're the tough guy you say you are, you'll just show up..!! Or you can just chicken out again and not show up like last time
Not show up? I gave you my address and gym, your the one who didn't have gas money to come down. But your claim to have "plenty of money"
Your the one who never showed up. I still work out there, anytime bro, anytime. Course gas is more expensive now, so I won't hold my breath.
I just wish dubbs would quit beating his chest and come up with some evidence of the alleged false prophecies from the Bible.
Hey dubbs,I hear that when it comes to fighting or wrestling, your referred to as the Don Knotts of Mormonism!
LOL HAHAHAHAHAHAHA you sure kick his butt BL, thanks fer the laugh.
Hey Dubbs I'm still waiting for the name and address of your Gym, and are you going to show up on June 7th at 3:00pm, and do you need me to bring some equipment (boxing Gloves etc.) for you
I told you, I don't let people into my life that threaten women and children, People like that, I wouldn't allow around my dog, much less humans. aint happening. Deal with it.
Nobody asked you to bring the wife and kids to the gym?
For that matter...John offered to meet you in his own back yard. Leave the wifey and kiddies at home and accept the challenge. You've been spouting off about your fighting prowess long enough.
Just as you've spouted off about senile old men. Put your money where your mouth is and face an older man in the ring.
Coming from the guy who has not, nor do I believe will ever meet John or anyone here in real life, because of similar concerns, that is funny.
John had his chance, he flaked and didn't have any money, now that I've seen his true character, I wouldn't let him around my dog, much less allow him to know what I looked like, and possibly have a chance to follow through on his threats with my wife and kids.
BS Dubbs you're just making excuses,"LOL"
you just wrote that you still work out at that Gym and you said anytime, anytime,
So you just made the new challenge, Well I gave you a time and you picked the place, Now just like the chicken sh*t that you are, you backed down making excuses..
"LOL" "LOL"
You had your chance, you either chickened out or made excuses yourself. I remembered what a dangerous person you would be to women and children and thought better of allowing you in my life. I'd rather let Dr. Lector in my life.
1. As I recall...John called the gym you claimed to be a regular at. He described what you stated about your fighting record...and they didn't know who in the hell he was talking about.
So why in the world should he waste money when there was no way of telling if you would show or not?
We all know you weren't ever planning on showing. And so do you. This is true!! That's why I wasn't going to pay to go all the way to California when I didn't even think you were there in the first place, and the reason I didn't think you were there was I called and no one knew of you and your 29-0 record, also I went through everyone of your old posts Dubbs, when you were Dubya and in your old posts you had told someone that they could write you at a University of Phoenix e-mail address.... So Dubbs you're just making up excuses because you know I would beat your ass in the ring, and don't worry Dubbs I won't knock you out in the first round, I want to hit on you a while first...... and if you don't think I could, then give me the Name and Address of a real gym you go to, with a boxing ring and I will buy a plane ticket and meet you there....Sh*t Dubbs say the word and I'll buy you tickets to come here...
