This thread discusses the Content article:
IN OUR VIEW: Preparing for the Big OneHa! How in the world do the collective Einsteinians on the D. Herald editorial board find the audacity to applaud the merits of science with a straight, serious face? This page has been used far more often to ignorantly disregard the established science of climate change; an impending problem that has just as much disastrous implications as this earthquake. Easy answer: earthquakes are not political. Earthquakes are not being discussed by the Right Wing's Satan: Al Gore. Since this editorial board is more about pushing a questionable political agenda, they see no hypocrisy in selectively accepting or disregarding established science.
Most scientists say climate change is real. A minority do not. Most scientists say the Wasatch Front is overdue for a big earthquake. Some do not. Science is an open debate; a discussion that works to achieve consensus. This elementary point of the scientific method was not taught to the D. Herald's editors who assume that public opinion determines valid science. Earthquakes=scary=real science. Climate Change=Al Gore=Crap. Not how science works, folks.
