Mormon's from other states are not quite as "Mormon" as many Mormons in Utah. If you are from Utah you already know there are some ingredients that only apply to Utah. Your comment makes little sense. For one thing, if you're referring to the Mountain Meadows Massacre...many of the Mormons in Iron County had been victimized themselves.

This doesn't excuse the cold blooded murder of men who had surrendered their arms, and of their women and children over the age of 8.

But please bear in mind that those Mormons had personally suffered mightily at the hands of Gentiles.

As far as 'blood sacrifice' being a part of their beliefs...this was something which was taught by Brigham Young, and continued to be taught by a number of his successors.

It is no longer taught.

But what the Mormons of Iron County did to Arkansas immigrants, and whatever Brigham Young may have believed about Blood Atonement...has absolutely NOTHING to do with this article, or this topic of discussion.

I find it many times just the opposite, Mormons in California sort of poke fun at the "Utah Mormon" mentality as kind of like a country club they belong to, it's ok to drink a little coffee, wine, etc, as long as your in church on Sunday.

I have always found Mormon outside of Utah more valiant, they stick together and look out for each other, hang out together, because they stand out so much in other areas, this happens more often IMO.

As far as this calender, when I first heard about it I rolled my eyes thinking it was classless and an attempt to capitalize on the Mormon faith. Course when you start having people do things that are borderline against their temple covenants, I think it's wrong myself.

Doesn't surprise me to find out this guy is inacitive and sounds like he could care less about what the church thinks, which was obvious from the calender to begin with.
