A bat isn't a rodent on wings as this woman has portrayed. They are a good thing, not bad. And with West Nile Virus now here, they are a very good thing. Also, they are nocturnal. So unless they are disturbed, they aren't out to "get" anyone.

Why is there wildlife inside a school building in the first place? Come on!
Bats can carry rabies; rabies kill people. Bats don't have to bite to pass on rabies. A simple scratch can do it. I read about one kid who didn't realize he had been scratched by a bat. It flew into his bedroom in the night. He found it in the morning and carried it to the window to let it go. The young man later died from rabies.
It is the school district's responsibility to ensure that school buildings are safe for our children. What would happen if cockroaches were found in the cafeteria? That would certainly create issues with the health department. Where is the health department on this one considering bats pose a significantly higher risk of death than cockroaches?
This is an ongoing problem at Lehi High School. If you don't want law suits, then get rid of the bats!
