I hope that I don't get in trouble for my new calender: "Women of the UC!" It features a bunch of 20 year old women, all blonde, all wearing capri pants, all wearing those modesty doily looking things that protrude out from the bottom of their shirts, all having their 4 kids in tow and not the least bit of sensuality evident. I don't anticipate it being a big seller...

It is much more likely that some deviant in Price is planning a companion calendar featuring returned female missionaries in black string bikinis. It is amazing what some porn peddlers will do for a buck and what some of the Lord's Young Elect will trash their eternal souls for a dollar.

That would be better than male missionaries in black string bikinis. Wouldn't it, Ray?

(1) "Regional church leaders who called the meeting raised two concerns with Hardy during the meeting: the calendar and his failure to keep some church covenants."

I was taught only members doing 3 things will be ex-communicated, re: deny the Holy Spirit, murder, and commit to adultery. The concerned guy did not seem to break any of the above 3.

(2) "The LDS church takes disciplinary action when leaders believe a person's behavior or actions are openly incompatible with the faith's teachings and could potentially damage the church. A church spokeswoman said that any church discipline is the result of actions, not beliefs."

I thought: the term "openly" meant publicly, such as publishing, advertising, etc. I did not think it meant behaviours vs thoughts. For example, husbands with prono-related behaviours, whose behaviours were known to bishops/stake presidents, were not sanctioned in terms of temple-recommend and/or church callings, because of no rocking of the marriage/family relationship. As a result, they kept the temple recommend, church callings (or leadership), prono-related behaviours all together in their hands (keeping the cold water and the hot water in the same cup, in order to make luke-warm water). I believed it became the Church's culture, re: no open behaviours (i.e. actions) were allowed, and never mind private behaviours (i.e. beliefs). This culture was a combination of religion and enterprise (a combination of hot water and cold water). This culture was luke-warm water, which was mentioned in scripture.

Tch tch tch. Will you just look at those posts?! Some people are definitely struggling with deep-rooted religious hate issues, aren't they? [Laughing]

I'm sure most of us are smart enough not to bite the baloney Keeper and utocoman are selling, but just in case...

Please note that "The Brethren at Temple Square" do in fact accept tithing earned by people in honest occupations, even if they live in Las Vegas. The church does not, however, accept tithing from excommunicated members of the church. Nor does the LDS Church accept tithing on proceeds from gambling, including lottery winnings.

Apparently, that makes the Church a Mammon-grubbing cult in some people's eyes.

I don't know. I'd stick around to ponder that, but I'm off to my returned-missionary photo shoot.

And if you could please excuse utocoman and Keeper, they are late for a cross burning.

Nothing self-righteous about Blog801! (Laughing).

And nothing anti Mormon about you (laughing sarcasticly) (rolling eyes) idiot.

Where does one sign up for your "reprentance" process and what does it do? Were you being "sarcasticly?"

You LDS?

Re:LDS Church excommunicates calendar maker 5 Months, 4 Weeks ago Karma: 3
I have a good friend in California that was ex-communicated. Her husband wasn't. We all laughed when that happened as you had to know her to understand. She is a rebel. She is a leader as well and surrounded by people in all walks of life dancing for her. Any church would be proud to have this woman attend because of who she is. What she isn't is a mouse. Her greatest passion was books so she opened a chain of bookstores. Everyone agreed THAT was perfect. She found herself at odds with city officials so she ran for office. She won unanimously. In fact the margin was a landslide.

Her husband took the ex-communication in stride though he was more hurt than she seemed to be. His response was quiet on the surface but he never stopped being anything but the husband that loves, admires and is proud of that woman. She was born to be admired and she is. He apparently was born to love her and he does. Madly!

So for those ex-communicated for any reason, if there is TRUE love, ex-communication only makes people outside the marriage happy. I think of him and his eyes as they light up still, when she walks in the room and I think what a waste this all is and what a joke that any family is so weak in structure that this would even have meaning.

She still owns her world and she is still a little powerhouse and I personally LOVE it that she was ex-communicated for some undefinable reasoning and I love it that some few "little people" shunned her and I love it that her Mormon in good standing caters to her every whim as she does him. I love the love and I love the respect and I love the miserable outside parties. Who couldn't?

In the name of the city she named a street after a loved one of mine who passed away. The bylaws didn't allow it but she moved heaven and earth to make it happen because a representative long before she took office said he was going to do it, and didn't. That in and of itself means little except to show she was never one to be denied. And Mormons, Catholics, agnostics, athiests etc have to go through her if they have a localized need. Sweet, sweet justice. lol

I'm posting this because I am giving back and this string is a perfect setting to honor a magnificent woman of spirit who still rocks a piece of California.

So...bite me.
