This thread discusses the Content article: HERALD POLL: Give back the peyote

To the Daily Herald Staff,

The United States, the State of Utah and Utah County citizens owe you a big thanks for unraveling the true essence of this vitally important issue.

If one church is violated by a constituency influenced government all churches are opened to the same violation.

I believe people as a nation must utilize principles as our guiding light when making laws and or governmental policies.

I think I smell a new church coming to town:

Methotist - Where the sacrament involves crystal meth

The Church of Mary - Marijuana that is

The Dyslexic LDS church - for LSD

The Line and the Lam - for people who like to snort and stay one step ahead of the law.

Wilbur, the Native American Church is the oldest religion in the Nation. And the only church in the nation, up to now, denied equal rights and protection supported by the principles the United States Constitution is setting upon.

It is not new by any stretch of ones imagination. Plus Peyote is not a drug it is a herb that assists sincere authorized participant ability to heal ones spirit and emotional pain. imbalances.

Wilbur, try the beginning of recorded history. Like long before the white man ever stepped on any North and / or South America shoreline.

To Whom It May Concern,

My heart is singing that the world now knows 58.91% (228) of 387 respondents of the Daily Heralds Poll "Give back the peyote" understands the real issue at hand; it is not about James Warren Flaming Eagle Mooney, Peyote or even the Native American Church. It is about honoring the First Amendment of the Bill of Rights that was designed and implemented to guide the actions of 'all' our elected and appointed federal, state, county, city and town servants.

I believe the United States Constitution is about 'Principles' that must be followed in directing the affairs by its government officials in serving 'all' its citizens in a 'respectful' manner.

After tomorrow's meeting at the Honorable Senator Orrin Hatch Provo district office, I am going on a long extended 'fishing trip' with my Grand-Kids and Great Grand Kids that will last the remaining years of my earth's journey.

By the way the News Conference scheduled at 10:30 A.M., Friday, August 15, 2008 has been CANCELED!!!!

Thursday August 14, 2008, 10:22 AM Statistics

Give back the peyote

Should federal authorities return confiscated peyote to a Utah County man?

No
159 41.09%

Yes
