There is no question that Phelps is on one of the "best athlete of the century" tracks. In one race alone he looked as if he would finally lose going into the last lap but he came away from the wall almost a half a body length ahead and he then won decisively. He is not just winning gold medals, he is breaking world records as he does so. I have never seen anything quite like it in my life. In fact failure for him would be if he lost one race not if he lost all of them.

This type of athlete does not come along very often so I guess we just sit back and enjoy it.
