"Social principles
The following 12 principles are frequently listed as a quick summary of the Bahá'à teachings. They are derived from transcripts of speeches given by `Abdu'l-Bahá during his tour of Europe and North America in 1912. The list is not authoritative and a variety of such lists circulate.
1. Unity of God 2. Unity of religion 3. Unity of humankind 4. Gender equality 5. Elimination of all forms of prejudice 6. World peace 6. Harmony of religion and science 7. Independent investigation of truth 8. Universal compulsory education 9. Universal auxiliary language 10 Obedience to government and non-involvement in partisan politics 11. Elimination of extremes of wealth and poverty
12. With specific regard to the pursuit of world peace, Bahá'u'lláh prescribed a world-embracing Collective Security arrangement as necessary for the establishment of a lasting peace.
Hmmmm...One God...love, peace and harmony...principles one through 11 sound pretty darned similar to the teachings of Jesus Christ...and the founder of the faith, claimed to be a prophet who received revelation from God.
Here is one link explaining the faith.

Hey, maybe you wouldn't have to lie to join their church and get a recommend into their temple. HAR!
The Bahai faith doesn't restrict entrance to either their faith, or their houses of worship, Dubbs. Baha'i Houses of Worship are open to all peoples, regardless of race, creed, gender or age.
There are no requirements, except for a desire for peace, tranquility, the love of all humanity, and equality.
Wow that sure makes the LDS Church look bad...!!!
Nah, it actually makes them look more correct, a church that stands for nothing, takes a stand for nothing, has no core beliefs, is a church that blows in the wind with every wind of doctrine, and Christ warned us of that. Reminds me of WRen's beliefs. And Jesus said...'Come unto Me, ALL ye who labor, and are heavy laden...and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn of me...for My yoke is easy...and My burden light. The Bahai faith has it's core beliefs...and they are in line with most everything that Jesus taught.

cowboyup wrote:Hi folks, just got back from church. In Sacrament Meeting we had a talk of President Packers conference talk. We relearned how the Saints were so patriotic when they reached the Salt Lake Valley, rather then looking for revenge they held a parade. I just kind of smiled during the "tearful" talk given. In Priesthood we discussed Lesson 19 and the instructor told how after Joseph was tarred and featherd he preached a sermon the next day. He said,"rather then be angry and revengeful he preached peace". I spoke up and said,"ya, that didn't happen until Brigham Young became Prophet" Did so in kind of a joking way. No one said a word and seem shocked I would say such a thing. Then I rememberd I am suppose to keep my mouth shut.
Next my daughter is the president of her Young Womans group and went to BYC. She came home and said everyone wanted to know what was wrong with her dad. She said, "Nothing is wrong with my dad, he just doesn't like to go to church."
Kind of bothers me that people can be so judgemental. I believe I am living right and have good morals and beliefs. I guess the Church thinks I am going to hell because I am not involved in every organized event in the church. They have no idea of my spiritual beliefs. I am thankful that God will be my judge and not those in BYC!Oh my little friend, may I teach you a thing or two. Never come right out and say "ya, that didn't happen until Brigham Young became Prophet" Always talk in parables. Act a little stupid and ask questions like, “Did they have a parade after the 'Meadows' event? Or you ask a question. Ah I was just wondering if the Daughters of Zion still meet? I heard that Bill Hickman was a member. So you should have said some thing like this. Brigham you was one of those prophet that really fought for his people, he knew how to separate the goat for the sheep. You have to be careful they do catch on after about 10 years. Now when I make on of my outlandish comments or question, the teacher says, I don't know sister Lovie why don't you tell us. Never give to much info, leave them hanging. Those who are interested will research. Other just let it run off. Now as for the kids and the interrogations, help then with pre approved answers. Question: Hay what's wrong with your dad? Tell them to tear up and say OMG is my dad dieing? Shuts them up every time. Or if worst come to worst you could get a visit. So turn your church experience into a game. Smile and be really happy say hi to people you don't like, this make them uncomfortable, a hand shake is always a good way to make member wonder what's going on. I pretend to have a deadly disease and want to spread it to as many members as possible. One week it is spread by a hand shake, the next it is spread by a pat on the back, or another it is a simple hi. They die, you go home feeling fulfilled, another successful Sunday. And guess what, you'll find yourself anxious for the next week.

Cowboy-sounds like you have a Utahvalleyites ward. Even SLC admits UV is uniquely bad, after all Bishop he ain't lives here. Be of good cheer the LDS church doesn't believe in hell so you ain't going. Oh wait I don't believe in hell, once again I don't know what the hell I'm talking about. Just have a good night.
Question were you relearning how the Saints were so patriotic because it's almost time to vote. Oh, the church isn't evolved in politics-I don't know what I'm talking about.
Oh, here's one last happy thought if you do go to hell I'll be there- Oh, that wasn't happy-Damn not my night!
CPDude, you try so hard to be funny, it's forced, ligthen up, be more natural .

The more I hear from you, the less I think you are a member, or at least a beliving member. Course you have already admitted you are two faced when it comes to your church face, and your regular life face. Pretty disgusting to say church should be a game. I pretend to have a deadly disease and want to spread it to as many members as possible. Especailly since you did tell Jayes wife you have a deadly cancer. Do the same at church? I was going more for the plague. Something quick none of this lingering stuff, You know I'm a member Dubbs, you know all about my church attendance. You know I love church and I go every week unless I don't feel well, lately that been just about every week for the last month. I'm so sorry I don't fit into you little perfect Mormon box. I was never good at fitting in. I have this funny theory, it a good one. I'm not like anyone else on this whole planet. I'm me!! and no one else but me. My box is big and it includes everyone who wants to join. I won't turn anyone away just because they are different. In my box you can express your self, have an opinion and you can still be loved. Thing aren't black or white but lots of gray. Wonderful shades of gray. Come on Dubbs get out of you little box where you sit alone, and join the rest of us.
