I'd like to offer a suggestion:
Within the boards like "Top Stories" or "Our Town" etc. it would be nice to have an ongoing "open for discussion" category for side important news stories that are open for discussions and perhaps not selected as headlines. That way there is a vehicle to discuss other news subjects you may not have listed like the abuse of the dog that was placed in the oven. You may be planning to spotlight it but I'm using it as an example: I would like to hear what people feel about animal abuse laws. If I bring it up under a formal string I would be cluttering that string off subject.
Maybe? Thoughts on this?

I finally duplicated the result, it's only happening if I use Internet Explorer.. everything works perfectly if I use my default Firefox browser. I also find the ?question marks? if I write my responses in Word then paste them into the dialog I am posting. It appears ok before I post the response, but when I read it back the ? marks are there. By the way I am using FireFox and the problem is still there. I can go back in and modify the post and reinsert quotes and apostrophes and it fixes the problem. The problem may be a character recognition bug.
For what it's worth, I seem to have eliminated the "?" in my posts by typing only one space between sentences rather than the standard two spaces.

James, if you look below your karma score, you will see [applaud][smite]. This is below each persons karma score. If you like something that someone says, you can click on the applaud or if you don't like what they said, you can click on the smite. You have to be logged in to do it and you can only applaud or smite a particular person no more than once every hour (I believe).
I think it is a dumb feature and I have a personal policy not to use the smite button no matter how stupid a person's comments might be. I just don't like the negativity of it. I rarely give applauds just because, like I said, I find the idea a bit silly.
Anyway, now you know so you can applaud and smite away!
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What happened to the "themes" why is it that when you are logged in the theme does not change anymore? Now how do I know when someone replied to a post I made? I used to goto the comments section and select view last posts or something similar.....
Can I get an answer to this?
What are some ways that others are "seeing" who replied to posts made? I don't think it is good to have to try to remember all the posts that you made on different subjects and try to keep track of who is replying to them. Is there some step that I am missing....

dinko,
If you click on your name, it will bring up a window. In that window is a section called "Additional Information" and under that heading there is a line that says "Show last posts of this person." If you click on that, it brings up a list of the posts, in chronological order from newest to oldest, that you made. If you click on one of those posts, it takes you to your comment and from there you can see if there have been comments made since you post. You can actually do this for anyone's name should you be interested in stalking someone around. :o
