We appear to have been abandoned here as I don't recall anyone from the Herald responding to questions in quite a while. But I'll answer your question. You can not start new topics unless you submit a "letter to the editor" and it gets put into this forum by the Herald staff.
It would be a nice feature if they would allow it, however.

I think they need to screen their headlines or intros better. But then they do make this site more amusing. This was in the advertising to the right under "Top Homes."
