Woody, you seem very comfortable calling liberals "baby killers." Very convenient that you're doing so from the cover and anonymity of a computer. Say that sh*t to my face, and we'd have a problem. Let me just say you're very lucky that you don't know me.
As for Rocky protesting Bush, I think it's fantastic. Bush is the lowest form of pond scum that I've had the misfortune to live under in my 28 years. Anderson actually has a conscience, that's why he feels it necessary to speak up. To speak up for the 100,000+ Iraqis that have been victims of Bush's murderous campaign. Woody talks about how he hates liberals and their baby-killing ways. I guess he prefers Bush who kills men, women, and children. Equal opportunity. How anybody could, in this day and age, support Bush is beyond belief. He's running this country, Iraq, and the earth into the ground and the bulk of Utahns raise their collective hand and ask "what can I do to help?" This coming from a "God-fearing" people. Oh, the hypocrisy. My head is starting to hurt. I'd better stop.
Having fun reading the lies on the loony left wing blog sites? I read Anderson's column in the Tribune on Sunday....after the third or fourth outright lie, I had to quit. Now you get to parrot the lies...you and your lying military hating, Bush bashing crowd are lower than pond scum. The hypocrisy far left is vomitous. After the second or third condescending "brave American soldiers" in Rocky's column, I wanted to vomit. I'll be at Rocky's "protest" just to support those Americans that have a semblense of respect to our country. You don't, and neither does that idiot, Rocky or you wouldn't spew out those lies about the President and by proxy, American soldiers.
BTW: Mr Worldly with your vast knowledge and experience, I have a callous on my foot older than 28 years old.
Hey Boss,
you are a typical conservative drone. Your logic is faulty and your arguments are pitiful. Face it. You backed the wrong horse. Bush is a murderer. He kills people with impunity and you support him. He pollutes the environment and you say "how can I contribute?" He gives tax breaks to the very rich to which you respond "I love you, give it to me harder."
Your criticisms are amusing to me. You call liberals "vomitous" (is that even a word?) You say we lie. We hate the military, and so on. Well, your Karl Rove-like attacks won't work on me. You see, anyone with half a brain (sorry boss) can see that Bush is a despot. Calling me names won't change that reality.
So, go on living in your fantasy world, where Bush is righteous and good, and the war in Iraq is just. If that helps you sleep at night, by all means do it. But, don't think for one second that those of us with consciences will stand idly by while atrocities are being carried out by this regime.
BTW: I was born and raised in a New York ghetto and have seen plenty in my short 28 year life. So please, don't patronize me.
I like you!! Give em hell!!
I don't call Liberals vomitous (it is a word), I called you vomitous. Anderson is a lying bum, and so is the NAZI, Sheehan..and by association so are you. And I will always maintain that you and your associates ie..the pig, hate the military..note.."Bush is a murderer"..that, by proxy shows that you are maintaining that the American military are murderers. You are a broken record...the radical left wing was doing this 15 years before you were born...I had to put up with your type 40 years ago, and I not listening anymore.
By the way, what is the President doing to "pollute" the enviorment? Throwing his Dixie cup out the window of the White House?
Are the bodies of the "murdered" people in the closet of the White House?
I want you to keep posting so all can see the "vomitous" lefties in all their "glory".

Which America do you live in?
So, according to your logic, Martin Luther King never should've marched, protested, or demonstrated against the President?
Or is this another case of Free Speech is Fine as Long as I Agree With It?
I'm not sure how old you are, but MLK didn't protest against "the president," but against institutional racism. He protested against the lack of a voice in the government. He protested for equality in education, voting rights and equal opportunity. The president at the time was LBJ, a Texas (read Southern) Democrat. Was LBJ a racist? Maybe. Were the protests directed at him solely? No.
LBJ did more than any white man in our history, except Lincoln, to further the cause of civil rights. Without LBJ, the civil rights act and voting rights act would never have passed congress. When LBJ signed the civil rights act in 1964, he said to his aides, "we just gave the south to the Republicans for the next generation". He was right, and he did the right thing knowing that it would have terrible consequences for himself and his party.
Roland, I need to hear more good things about LBJ.
Not everything about LBJ is good. He was corrupt, dishonest, and a womanizer. He got us into Vietnam even though he thought it was an unwinnable war. He just thought the Republicans would call him soft on communism if he didn't. He vastly overreached on his war on poverty programs. But, on the biggest issues of his time, civil rights, he was a giant.
My dislike for him because of Viet Nam over shadows his civil rights stand.
Oh! I remember Lady Bird's Beautification of America program, what a croc, while over 50,000 of our brothers and sister were being killed in that stinking war. It's been over 40 years, it is time for me to let it all go.

Unfortunately some of the men in the military are murderers and rapists. They are a very, very small minority. Most are average folks trying to do a job and protecting the United States because they believe in what it stands for. I don't put the President in the same league as these folks. To argue that he is a murderer is to question the definition of the word and when a persons actions make them responsible for the death of another person. I think there are good arguments for both perspectives, but I think we can agree that he has been largely responsible (as a leader of a nation that entered into war) for the deaths of both those who deserved nothing better and those who were entirely innocent (and many in-between). I do think that it would be fare to label Bush a torturer even though he has not to my knowledge directly participated in any such actions. He is directly responsible for the policies of his administration that include attempts to exempt us from Geneva conventions, shipping suspects to nations that condone torture, and setting policy and tone that allowed torture in Guantanamo and Iraq. Beware being to active in your defense, it suggests that you don't want to address the real issues at hand and can't support the view that he is not a murderer. You can do better. By the way did you ever find any support for suggesting Sheehan is anti-Semitic?

I have to agree, much as I wish I didn't. My brother served two months in VietNam before he was permanently (100%) disabled. In his short time there, he saw things that have scarred him for life. I'll relate one thing and you can belive me or not, makes no difference to me. One night, not long after he arrived, the guys in his barracks were in bed sleeping. My brother could not sleep due to the jungle noises, and such being that he was new. He was just laying there, when the door creaked open and a couple of men came in very quietly. They crept over to the one black soldier in the barracks and slit his throat. It took all my brother had to keep from screaming. I have no idea how this was reported to the soldier's family. But I know it happened because my brother said so and I know my brother. He came back a completely different person than when he left. To this day, he has not gotten over the things he saw. He can't watch any kind of war movie, not even John Wayne, without having flashbacks. War is nasty!

Hyperbole reigns supreme on the board again. The only poll that mattered in the last two years was the poll where President Bush was re-elected. Those who read the polls, and not the questions in the polls are being superficial. Those who feel that they truly are indicative of national sentiment must be informed that the poll is dependent on the questions, the interviewer and political bent of the organization/periodical taking the poll.
On another note, I am a survivor of the World Trade Center (23rd floor), and know that in my heart the support of terrorists by governments (Iraq, Saudia Arabia and others) should color our national policy and defense mandates. If the war with Iraq was solely for revenge (Saddam tried to kill GHW Bush) or oil (looked at the prices lately?), why aren't we in possession of the fields and why is Saddam still alive? Osama will be gotten, and then I'll feel a little more fulfilled on the "get back" side.
PNO, my sincerest sympathies for the horrible experience you had on 911. Here's hoping you don't still have nightmares.
I'd just point out though that the arab world feels just as morally "right" about their support (overt or covert) of terrorism as we feel about our "war" against it. When any group of people feels so "morally right" in their cause, then military force isn't going to squelch their resolve or change their viewpoints. If anything, Bush's military aggression has cemented them in their convictions and even recruited their fence sitters over to the pro-terrorist side.
Worse, Bush's approach has alienated the rest of the world too. Our allies have forsaken us. Bush is now described by formerly neutral countries as a major source of evil in the world.
Now is that successful foreign policy? Is that really making us more secure? Hardly. Time for a reality check!!
Bush is shooting himself in the foot politically instead, and worse, taking the rest of America down with him.
Why doesn't Utah realize it? It's that Utah mental illness cropping up again; they are so used to living in a homogenous society where everyone has the same race, religion, etc., etc. that they've totally lost all capacity to relate effectively to anyone outside their niche. (The skills and empathy you don't use, you lose, so to speak.) Being taught from the time you can speak that you have the only true religion doesn't help them develop better insight or people skills either. (Please see an exemplary "holier than thou" Utah attitude on Politics4me's post.)

So, BBB, what "lies?" About 70% of America disagrees with your position on Bush, including plenty of people who are older than you. Document for us please which statements were "lies" and provide proof. The post you made was extremely emotional and lacked substance. You'll need to post something more substantial than that to convince me that 70% of America is wrong in disapproving of Bush and that you (and a fair amount of Utahns) are right.
