This thread discusses the Content article: A flesh wound on truth

It is amazing but of all the "secret societies" of our land, the one with the badges is the most exclusive and select. If you thought civlivian militias are secretive just try to get info from Officer Toody about what is going on at next Law Enforcement Cookout. "Fresh Meat" is ALWAYS on the menu. (If I had a nickel for every time my rump was in the PD cross-hairs....ie; Radar, Rifle scope,
Traffic Video Monitor....cha-ching, cha-ching.

Not surprised 'tol! Zeig Hiel!

The public has a right to expect the highest standards of communication from people who carry guns and badges. We should receive only truth from public officials. Every fib erodes credibility.

Just one more example of why Sheriff Tracy needs to be voted out of office and a real Sheriff elected to the office of chief law enforcement officer of the county!

The public has a right to all the facts about an ongoing investigation? I wasn't aware of that right. Seems the public is rarely informed in detail about ongoing investigations.

But I guess it is easier to write up a letter like this and jump to conclusions than to actually ask the people in the know about why they felt the cover-up was necessary...if in fact it was so strictly a cover-up, which I don't know anyone in authority having stated in so many words (please point out if I'm wrong).

But of course no such maneuvers were seriously undertaken. The "sniper training" was a silly ruse meant to keep the public in the dark about what was really going on -- a search for the remains of Kiplyn Davis, who disappeared from Spanish Fork High School in 1995. If we are misinformed at such a low level governmental operation, consider how substantially misinformed we are kept about reality at the scale of operations magitudes larger: the federal level.

Maybe we should be niave enough to believe them AND RUN WITH IT: "It has come to our attention through current police traning exercises that snipers very well might have selected Utah county to conduct activity we fear may be linked to terrorist groups. Although the local sheriff has denied such suspicions, we can not divorce ourself from the reality of their recent police exercises in Spanish Fork Canyon.

For the time being we ask everyone to be aware of anything out of the ordinary. Powerful political authorities may well be in the Provo area, unannounced. So, until further information is given, we suggest to limit outdoor activities, especially at night. Take other precautions as needed, consider that this state of caution will probably last only a couple of weeks. Further information will be made available as soon as possible."

Oh, that's right! There's no difference between lying to and deceiving interrogated suspects and public communications in this day and age. Everyone is a potential terrorist under Section 802 of the Patriot Act. (Thank you Chris Cannon!)

At least they're more honest about it in Florida!

Obviously crime is not terrorism, but if we have people in positions of authority that buy into the terror war fraud and believe that crime is terrorism, we are in a great deal of trouble.
