Court failed to show mercy, understanding for KillpackI, like many others, am outraged at the results of the Janette Klllpack case.We have a very disturbing situation that has failed the justice system, a biased female judge and prosecutor. Not until we find ourselves parents is our fantasy world of perfection and high expectations burst.
Read more... Judy,
What part of "She killed her child" are you having difficulty understanding. The little girl is dead because her mother followed the advice of some whack job counselor. What type of mercy or understanding would you expect the court to show?
It's interesting to read such misogynistic ramblings coming from a woman.
Actually, she had found the water 'therapy' technique in a book she was reading, and had already been using it for a few weeks before she even saw the 'counselor' at Cascade Center.
She told him about it, and he didn't see a problem with it, and told her to continue with it if she found it to be effective. (By the way, this particular individual wasn't even a licensed therapist.)
And I doubt that he had a clue that she was hitting, slapping and biting the little girl, or locking her in a dark bedroom all night, making her sleep on the floor for a few weeks at one period of time, taking the lightbulbs out of her ceiling light, and leaving her to pee her bed and lay in it all night long.
Not to mention that she would take it the the extremes that she did, by tying the girls hands behind her back and pouring that much water down her throat.

I agree with Dosmetros. I believe that Judy is saying that the punishment was unjust. The only reason that Mrs. Killpack got put in jail was because someone had to get in trouble for this, and since the guy who ran the clinic that was closed killed himself, she had to be the one that took the fall. It's just sad that so many people jump to conclusions and think that she is some sort of monster when that is not the case. My grandmother has helped this family a lot over the years and they are loving parents. It's sad for the little girl, but none of us know the situation as much as the Killpacks did and how hard it was for them to try and help that little girl. It's just sad.
How is tying a little girl's hands behind her back and pouring water down her throat until she literally drowns in her own bodily fluids helping her?
How is it an example of a 'loving parent' when an adult slaps or bites a little girl, makes her sleep on the floor like a dog, lock her in a dark room all night after making her drink quantities of water as a disciplinary action, and leave her in that locked room to pee herslef?
How is it an example of a 'loving parent' to send a little girl staggering off to her room after forcing that much water down her throat, and after the child has fallen off a stool and hit her head?
And leaving that child, clad only in a diaper, until her older sister went to check on her, and took enough pity on her to bring her some pajamas, 'cause it was pretty cold in her room'?
I don't care how well you think your grandma knew this family. It is apparent that she didn't know them as well as she thought she did.
And it's apparent that either she didn't see what was going on in this family, or she refused to give the girl the KIND OF HELP SHE NEEDED!
Other people who knew this family quite well, both in church and in the neighborhood have said that there was something pretty fishy about the harsh way the girl was treated in comparison to the other children.

CPS needs to investigate those parents who are defending Mrs. Killpack.

Hey I'm not a perfect parent by any means, but if you have to tie your child up just to get to the punishment part of the discipline, you probably wouldn't even know abuse if it bit you on the butt in the first place.
