I am sorry to see Provo High's getting whipped so badly and perhaps coach Wong should've pulled his starting team off the field and let the JV players beat PHS  but as a player, I would rather lose to the first team, and not to the subs even if the final score is a little closer. Provo high has been mired in medocrity for nearly twenty years now. This has to change. On the subject of recruiting, is Timpview High Schoo recruiting athletes for every sports team they have? Look at their records in other sposts as well, and when it comes to academics, how do the two schools compare? PHS has a new coach for girls soccer, so does THS and for the first time in twelve years, PHS swept THS during the season, something their Brazilian coach could not do and he, supposedly was a former pro soccer player with a degree in coaching. Well to each his own.

Apparently, you have forgotten the last 2 years at Provo, where they competed for the region title, and once gave Timpview a run for their money. I wouldn't call the last couple of years with Alder mediocre.

I'm sorry, Wong does recruit. I work at a local high school and in fact know that Wong showed up at the home of a player for my high school team and tried to get him to come down to T'vew, in the middle of the season. The parents are going to lodge a complaint with the UHSAA when the season is over. Then we'll see what happens. Wong is not a good coach, he just has better talent. It showed when he coached the all star game with 2 equal teams over the summer, and got killed.

The other schools in region 7 need to stand up and forfeit next years games, and no one should schedule a preseason game with them. PG has already said they won't play Timpview any more, more coaches need to get some cajones and do the same. Then, they would go into the playoffs with no game experience, and would bring the issue to light. No players would want to "transfer" there either. Let's see what the mighty T-Birds can do with their own players.

Don't tell Coach what school you are from. Because that is what that so called "Classy" coach at Provo high did. Then look what happens. How could you say that Wong recruits, good players want to play for good programs so don't be mad at him for "recruiting" but congratulate him on being a great coach.

Its sad when the Provo high coach goes around the county trying to get a petition signed to boycott Timpview games, how classy is that sir? Then he has his kids march off the field without shaking hands. Shows what a classy and reliable role model he is.

Plus wouldn't you want to be accused of recruiting and beating your cross town rival for the past 16 years.  That means the Provo High Bulldogs have not beat Timpview in a football game since last century.

I am just a mom. I am a fan too. My son plays for Timpview and I want to say Coach Wong is a class act. He does not recruit. Any player who is at Timpview is there because he wants to be there. I am glad my son can play for the Timpview program. Coach Wong puts in 2nd and 3rd string players for most of the games - even if it means the other team scores more often. Ask the Timpview boys - they love their coach and their teammates. Why speculate about whether or not the coach is this or that? Just ask the boys. I learned that early on from my boys that parents shouldn't complain - just ask the boys.

You are clearly unobservant, and completely biased as well...
Fact: Wong was suspended previously for recruiting
Fact: As stated in the article Wong left his starters in almost the entire game.

It was a classless move by a coach that continually walks the line of sportsmanship and decency. There is no place for it in prep sports.

Sure they love to play for Coach Wong because they win! It is fun to win. But it doesn't mean he does it the right way. It is obvious to everyone except the blinded t-view fans that he recruits players from all over the county. I don't care what way you try to spin it, the fact of the matter is that what he did in the game against Provo is the most bush league, low class thing I think I have ever seen in a high school sports game. Wong is a horrible example for what a good class coach should be and how they should act. I am sure he told his players something that justified his actions so they don't think it was wrong. But deep down every t-view fan knows that what he did in the Provo/T-view game was wrong. The facts are the facts and pretty soon I am sure he won't be coaching there after he gets busted for recruiting by the UHSAA.
