In Washington DC there is a museum where the whole theme is "Never Forget." It tells the story of 9 million Jews killed in Germany less than 70 years ago, you might have heard about it. SR, go tell those Jews that they cannot make the Germans "keep carrying the guilt for their ancestors." Tell the Jews that it is not "productive" or "forward-thinking" to keep the memory of the gas chambers alive or the mass graves or the forced labor. Tell them that. Tell them their museum is "hateful" and has "irrational divisive speech."
Yeah, the blacks need to "get over" slavery, the lynchings, the KKK, the disenfranchisement, the segregated military, the back of the bus, the racial slurs, the Whites Only Toilets and a million other injustices. They just need to forget that s*** so they can move "forward." That is the right wing answer to everything.
But for the Jews let them build a museum to tell the world to "never forget" the torture, the gassings, the rapes at the hands of the Nazis.
Yeah, J. Wright said some things that were out of line, and Obama has slammed him for it. But in essence J. Wright was telling his congregation and now all of America, "Never Forget." The Jews were right to remind the world of the injustice done to their people. J. Wright is right to remind the world of the injustice done to blacks in America.
The whites like you who hate Obama used this J. Wright episode to Swift-Boat Obama. You're pissed it did not work. You're angry you won't get to run against HRC this fall since you were all ready with you demon-Hillary ads. You're frightened that your crazy ass old mean tempered McCain is going to get up on stage in the debate this October and spill his load of venom on Obama (just like he did over and over on Mitt this winter). And the American people are going to think, "Man, do I want 4 years of this angry old coot in the White House?" They are going to listen to Obama give a great vision of America's future . . . and they will know who to vote for.
And worst of all for you SR, you will lose 20 more seats in the House and four more in the Senate.

This is such a jewel relating to the subject at hand I just have to spread the truth/wealth to the population in Happy Valley. Before you engage in critical comment regarding his religious leader"s how do you respond to this comment from your "church" leader?
Brigham young; "You see some classes of the human family that are black, uncouth, uncomely, disagreeable and low in their habits, wild, and seemingly deprived of nearly all the blessings of the intelligence that is generally bestowed upon mankind....Cain slew his brother. Can might have been killed, and that would have put a termination to that line of human beings. This was not to be, and the Lord put a mark upon him, which is the flat nose and black skin." ""Shall I tell you the law of God in regard to the African race? If the white man who belongs to the chosen seed mixes his blood with the seed of Cain, the penalty, under the law of God, is death on the spot. This will always be so."The comment is so very, uh...tribal. Tribal! That's the word.
BY's word was law. If death didn't automatically occur on the spot, I'm sure someone in his bureaucracy would make it come to pass. I wouldn't have stepped across a line drawn in the dirt by BY in those days, would you?!
To bring up past statements by Brigham Young in order to create divisiveness over them all over again is exactly what the Rev. Wright was continuing to do over the 20 years that Obama listened to his divisive and contemptible rhetoric. It is unproductive and is used only to recreate the past.
Sincere thanks and blessings go out to all English and grammar school teachers in America. Yours is not an easy job (if I dare say so myself).
What on earth does that have to do with the tragic flaw in Obama's character?Because of your flawed defense of Rich's flawed premise? And composition instructor of worth would give both of you failing marks. Dennis, you are fooling no one about who you are and what you are doing. You are simply a neo-con cyber hack.

If that violence goes back up (and I suspect it will...Bush must as well, since he is too scared to pull all of the surge troops out), they'll lose more seats than that. Now as far as RushReader backing McCain, that has yet to be admitted to. You see, he trashed McCain back on the "Florida Backs McCain" thread, and has yet to fess up and say he is supporting him. Here's what he said on that thread. SilentReader wrote:McCain will not win. We, the conservatives, won't let him. BTW, talking about the violence in Iraq picking back up again, it has been in the last few weeks, and we have this just this morning: BAGHDAD - A suicide car bomber penetrated tight security to strike an Iraqi military base on Sunday in the deadliest of a series of attacks that killed at least 42 people across Iraq. In Baghdad, the U.S.-protected Green Zone came under heavy fire by rockets or mortar rounds.
Seven people also were killed and 14 wounded in a suicide car bombing in the Shiite area of Shula in the capital.
The attacks underscored the fragility of Iraq's security, despite a decline in violence over the past year. They also came as the U.S. military death toll in Iraq nears 4,000.
Weekend raids across Iraq resulted in 17 insurgents killed and 30 detained, the U.S. military said. The deadliest was an operation Sunday targeting a suspected suicide bombing network east of Baqouba that killed 12 armed men, the military said.
Iraqi police reported a dozen civilians killed in an airstrike in the same area. But the military said those killed in the raid were insurgents, including six who had shaved their bodies apparently in preparation for suicide operations.
In the northwestern city of Mosul, Iraqi security forces opened fire on the suicide bomber as he drove toward a military base but were unable to foil the attack because the truck's windshield had been made bulletproof. An Iraqi army officer who described the attack spoke on condition of anonymity because he wasn't authorized to release the information.
The attacker blasted past an armored vehicle to reach the courtyard of the military headquarters, the officer said.
Police said at least 13 Iraqi soldiers were killed and 42 people wounded — 30 soldiers and 12 civilians — in the attack. Mosul, 225 miles northwest of Baghdad, has been described by the U.S. as the last urban stronghold of the Sunni-led al-Qaida in Iraq.
The U.S. military in northern Iraq gave a slightly lower toll of 12 Iraqi soldiers killed and 35 wounded.
Shiite extremists were suspected to be behind the barrages against the Green Zone, which houses the U.S. and British embassies and the Iraqi government headquarters...http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080323/ap_on_re_mi_ea/iraqNo wonder Bush does not want to take all the surge troops out. Most are coming out in the months ahead, though. Or are they?
