Tapping energy resourcesMoulton is right. Oil drilling in ANWR and coastal areas is a must. Allowing other countries (Cuba and Mexico) to take oil out of areas in which we are not allowed to drill by environmental insanity is an economic death wish promoted Greeners. But nuclear is only part of the answer. Wind and solar power create colossally ugly structures visually polluting our bucolic countryside to which environmentalists totally blind themselves.
The AP reports that the US Air Force has announced a startling proposal. âThe Air Force wants to build at its Malmstrom base in central Montana the first piece of what it hopes will be a nationwide network of facilities that would convert domestic coal into cleaner-burning synthetic fuel.â
The idea is to keep our defense forces from being dependent on other countries to supply our military with fuel. This could also kick-start development of the process into private industry, and could put a big crimp in the unreliable OPEC countries control over our oil supplies, since America has huge supplies of coal and oil shale.
One other point. The caribou herds have not only survived the Alaskan pipeline their numbers have increase...illustrating more lies promoted by environmentalists that herds would be devastated. Theyâve made the same arguments regarding drilling ANWR, to stop logging old growth forests for spotted owl habitat, and to stop global warming to end allegedly declining numbers of Polar Bears...all of which are lies environmentalists swallow in great gulps.
