Ha ha ha. If you don't think the $4,200 my dad will be getting won't help out our family then you are just plain wrong. The American people will remember this generous gift and they will remember who gave it to them. You ungreatful Democrats will be the ones who will be surprised this year!

You do realize the rebate is being paid for by borrowed money from China right? That 4200 will require interest paid to Beijing every year. Worst part is, most will spend it on goods made in China as well. That is a great return on investment for them. Yes, I am sure your dad will be able to buy lots of stuff with that money, but the interest and debt used will come back and haunt his kids (you) and his grandkids.

Just as I thought another FLDS member joins the posters. You are right though youngster, Bush bought the last election with he rebate checks carefully sent out close to the election times. Who says you can't buy a vote!

He's not running for election, why would he need to "buy another election". The money will be spent and forgotten about way before November. Want to wager who is going to get the Democratic nomination? My money is on Al Gore. Hillary and Obama will have made such a mess by the Democratic Convention, be will he the "savior".

Go RALPH NADER!

Al Gore?! Oh Lord, where's my razor blade. I'm just going to end it all right here and now.

Gift? What 'gift'?

It's OUR MONEY TO BEGIN WITH. The IRS is an illegal organization...and the Government takes more and more from our pockets.

Your parents are taxed when you pop out of the womb. They pay income tax, and property tax. They pay taxes to pay for education, and public libraries and public parks, and public transportation. They pay tax for food, for sundry supplies, for clothing, for shoes, and even for entertainment...and they even pay a death tax.

Not only that...the beneficiaries of their last will and testement will also pay a hefty tax for their inheritance.

Womb to the tomb...they are taxed. Methinks all too often their approach to the tomb is hastened by the horrendous burden of Uncle Sam's hand in their pockets.

There was a time when a man could build a business for his family. Or he could work the land and build a profitable farm, or ranch to pass down to his progeny.

Nowadays...these family owned businesses are being taxed out of business altogether...and the family owned farm is almost a memory.

I say...reduce the burden from the American family of paying these outrageous and illegal taxes and the economy will TRULY begin to flourish.

Just found out he's 18. I think it's a good thing he's hanging around here. Might keep him from turning into another woody or utocoman.

The Republicans who have taken it from your grandchildren and given it to you, you have to thank.

Seems like the Democrats give from the today's rich and give to the poor;

The Republicans take from (at best) "your grandkids" (well, I guess it could be other's grandkids!) and give it to their living Grandparents.

But, anyway, this replicates how Bush entered office ---giving $1.6 trillion to the richest of the rich and upon leaving giving an economical stimulus package to the opposite group.

I don't know Wayne...Social Security was implemented by a Democrat.

I've been paying into it for well over 35 years now...ever since I was a teenager...and I'll never see a penny of benefit from it.

And the Democrats have been in power in Washington State, except for one term of a Republican, ever since I've lived in Washington State.

As a small business owner and a general contractor, I can attest to the fact that Washington State is definitely NOT business friendly.

I've seen more small businesses and contractors go belly-up than I care to remember.

I don't know that I buy this rich vs poor argument. What I do buy is the harm of deficit spending. And the fact is both the Democrats and Republicans seems just as willing to do that. The Democrats seem to be more willing to find new taxes and raise the ones we already have.

Getting back to rich vs poor. I've never been a proponent of income redistribution. That is a Democratic philosophy I don't buy. I do buy giving back or taking as little of one's money in the way of taxes as possible. If someone has more money what do they do with it? They either buy more stuff. Creating more economic activity. Or they invest it. Creating more economic acitvity. It is never static. So why is it so bad to be rich? And why do we need to take more and more from the rich? 10% of $100 is $10. 10% of $1000 is $100. The more you have the more you give. Why should we take 20% of $1000? Anyone?
