IN OUR VIEW: Utah's stupid liquor lawFunny! Oh, wait...was it supposed to be funny? Why can't Utah just let folks who want to medicate themselves with alcohol create a situation where their brains temporarily lose the capacity to make good judgments and purchase more alcohol, which increases their danger to themselves and others? No....that sounds like a bad idea, so let's get the person who is dispensing the medication to exercise a little legislated control over the speed and type of medication that can be consumed in their presence. What? Utah is out of line with other states that allow greater levels of self-medication, which has SO MANY positive health and societal benefits? Darn Mormons. They think they're so smart, what with their living longer and better overall health. Just wait...all that jello and fast food (and prescription drug abuse) is going to bring the Mormons' average live span down to where the rest of America is, drugs, alcohol, and tobacco notwithstanding.
As for the bartenders? Heaven forbid they might have to memorize a small booklet as part of their job! They should have chosen to be Journalism majors so they could write for a newspaper.
