Oh, come on, folks. Nothing in the Constitution prohibits the states from regulating the sale of alcoholic beverage. Many of our southern states have counties that are completely dry.
Let me let you in on a secret from one who has a drink every few months.
It is moral as well as legal as well as ethical for a legislature to follow the majority opinion on this issue.
If you don't like it, ignore it.

In response to WREN, it isn't moral and responsible for a legislature to legislate against the minority. The Constitution and the ideals that founded this country were instituted to protect the minority from the tyranny of the majority. As long as behavior doesn't harm others, then using the majority as an excuse doesn't work. If we listened to the majority, slavery would still exist in the south--would that be moral to you WREN? Utah's strange liquor laws have no rational merit and they serve no purpose. Driving while drunk is a crime, regardless of how one gets drunk, and that is the law that protects the people, not some crazy, complex law that determines pointless things like Utah's current law.
