Yes...the Church interprets whatever the Church interprets, and usually based upon the current leader's personal beleifs. Things rarely remain the same indefinitely because leaders come, and leaders go. They don't live forever you know. This is what I've been trying to get across to you for so long.

However...if the Church wishes to be justified in disciplining any member for following Joseph Smith's instructions regarding the use of new-made wine for Sacramental purposes...then they need to follow proper and established procedure and induct this restriction into scripture...and insert it as an addendum to Doctrine and Covenants Section 89.

Has the Church disciplined any member for following Joseph Smith's instructions about this?

YOu say this alot, do you have proof of this? Do you know how many came back after comeing to their sense and realizing this is a Prophet led church and we will have change with this Prophet led sitation?

The journals and memoirs in both the LDS and CoC archives are full of the stories of those leaving the LDS church and its apostate leader, BY. Very few came back. How do I know tht? Because your church has no figures of how many came back it wishes to share, because if the size were numerous, it would have been published long ago.

The generally accepted numbers is just slightly more 50% followed BY and the LDS, and almost 50% said to hell with them.

Simply because this seems to be a common topic, I have included here a link to an article that explains the Church's official stance on statistical record keeping:

Looking Beyond Statistics: The Souls Behind the Numbers

I have done a good morning's work here with apostates such as Dubbs and Decaf, who clearly have not the Spirit in Christ in them.
How good can your work with anyone have been if, in your estimation, they do not have the Spirit of Christ in them?

We're talking about those who left (supposedly) when the Prophet announced Blacks can hold the Priesthood.

A parallel example only, Dubbs.

Here in the South upwards of 90% of some of the wards and 50% of some of the stakes left the LDS church and never returned. Any southern LDS here on the forum can attest to that personally.

Where I lived, and my stake and the surrounding stakes were huge, I didn't see any problems with the members leaving the church. That's not to say some members weren't set back on their heels for a time, but they never stopped attending church and never doubted the Prophet's words. Those stats seem high, in my opinion, because 90% of a ward leaving the church would wipe out priesthood leadership and the area would have to be closed, as the membership outside of Utah does not all live in the same block. Did that happen?

Not that I'm aware of. It would seem that such a dramatic shift in membership of an organization as prominent as the Church would have been the subject of at least some coverage in the press.

I wonder if Wren could supply any such examples...

Yes, you are still a lost soul, Decaf. You deliberately mischaracterize what I believe. I am saved in Christ, and He expects me to discern and reason both.

Don't like it, tuff.

"I am saved in Christ". You don't even understand what that means. You keep saying it, but nothing aside from you parroting this phrase indicates your belief in it.

He expects you to discern and reason. Explain to me what you think God's role is in this.

You proved my point, Decaf. Talk to your mother and ask her forgiveness, repent, and come back here a better person.

It seemed a valid question to me. If you expect to find all the "right" answers through reason alone, what role does God play in your reasoning?
