I'll be the first to admit she was able to present her memorized talking points. She was adept at ducking or ignoring several questions. That's the kind of person you want for president?

The election comes down to this. Do we want Obama socialism or not? My only disappointment for the evening is that she didn't piont out the well documented cause of the current realistate meltdown - Democrats and their policies which (well documented again)Bush, and other Republicans warned about and tried to put a stop to.

I think you got the party and president reversed. The Republican "less govt" battle cry is what caused the crisis, leaving it to the new Obama admiistration to fix another Bush Administration's blunders.

Then add the 2 pre-emptive wars that are blleding us dry, wiretapping US citizens, shreading the constitution, over reaching Executive control in too many ways to list, unemployent over the top, and on and on.

Wow, only in Utah County would you find people who would blame Bush's deregulation of the mortgage industry on Democrats!

As far as Palin: she's an airhead, and she's proving popular with the kind of people who think that folksy blather and cute hair is all that matters in life. She doesn't know the Bush Doctrine from a can of Alpo, can't name a Supreme Court case (not even the recently released Exxon case that cut money to Alaska, and which her office sent our a press release complaining about), can't identify a newspaper she reads, and on and on, which is why the campaign is so scared of press interviews; she lied about opposing the bridge to nowhere, firing her chef, selling a jet on eBay, and on and on; she rose to prominence in Alaska by backstabbing other Republicans and then firing people to replace them with friends (in other words, she's the Alaska equivalent of Jesse "The Body" Ventura becoming governor--rising to office by acting like a celebrity rather than a candidate); and in this debate she ducked question after question to give little memorized speeches. This is the dishonest lightweight that McCain wants to be President when he dies? Oh, please.

I thought the winner last night was the Utes? What's this Palin stuff?
