This thread discusses the Content article: New library needed

The citizens of Springville have voted NO more times than I can recount for good reason. The library is adequate for this town's needs. With the huge expenditures in building new city offices and the fire station we do not need to be saddled with more debt.

When the new buildings are occupied the whole building vacated can be utilized by the library!

The voters do not need to spend $$$$ the city does not have in hamd to create a "new" one!!

As I said the voters have voted NO many times and should vote NO once more!!!!

Why couldn't they just use the Palin technique and look into banning books? Then a library wouldn't be needed at all.

I don't know if the brethern have gone that far yet. I think it is a better chance that they just do not order those "anti" books in the first place. I have tried on numerous occasions to request books which definitely show the Bush/Cheney regime in a bad but reality based light and guess what? Not happening.

As far as expanding the library they could use the whole building if they thought about it and is likely plan c on their agenda when the upcoming election votes down the bond.

Springville has enough debt on the backs of the citizens as is. The new city and fire buildings are plenty expense at this time.

Hey, perhaps the mother of 3 and others who want to leave their children while they go shopping would ante up a yearly user fee for 2-4 years that the city could save an build a library when those funds are suffiecient.

No need to saddle all the taxpayers for a building not needed.

The library is NOT adequate for our town's needs. Did you get a home loan when you bought your house? I did and paid it off. I could never have saved up for it before my large family was raised. Voters do need to consider where their taxes go and a library is one of the best places.

they could use the old building? Really? So you know more than the professionals who have said that old building is unsafe and is too expensive to fix up and completely the wrong design? Sometimes we have to tear down a building and this one will be replaced with green space - is that ok?
