House plans second vote on bailout Dear Congressman/woman,
Please stop supporting this bailout Wall Street insanity!
IF you really want to do something constructive for our economy, consider this approach:
Give every citizen, whether, man, woman, or child, in this country a million dollars.
They would either spend much of it within a few weeks or put it in the bank. The resulting consumer driven spending/saving spree would help lift our economy out of the doldrums. Want to enhance the process even more? Require that this money, if immediately spent, be spent on American made goods! Think of the boost to our economy if our businesses were asked to manufacture these goods. Employment would drop to zero practically overnight! Undoubtedly, the balance not promptly spent, would be placed in personal bank accounts IN THIS country. The liquidity provided by this would go a long way to eliminate the banking industry's problems as well.
It could be a win-win situation all around!
Further, doing this would only cost the taxpayer about $325 million or so, NOT the unverified, and presently unlimited $700 Billion or more of the present bailout scheme - which no one has offered any sort of guarantee that it will work. My suggestion has a definite limit on its cost, while the present Wall Street bailout has no known or expressed limit and is a blank check.
Another thing for you to consider: VOTERS would be getting this money. Few would not be willing to support or vote for you next time you come up for reelection? You might not get tossed out for supporting Wall Street in spite of what the average citizen knows is the right thing to do in this situation.
Please consider ending the present insanity of supporting the fat cats that have practically destroyed our country. Instead, support the citizens of our country. It is they, after all, that are the foundation and essence of our "free market" economy.
